Experience

8 to 12 years’ experience of Chlor Alkali plant

MBA (Sales & marketing/Supply Chain Management/Materials Management)

30 to 36 years

Fleet Management

• Arranging fleets based on schedules received from CSO/Marketing & delivering timely to meet customer requirement as well as timely getting back of empty vehicles along with extension of fleets in order to meet the rising customer demand.
• Implementation of ABG road & Driving Standard.

Carry out market survey of existing & new routes to facilitate in Speedy Delivery

• Gathering information from the market for alternative routes available for logistics cost reduction & speedy delivery.

Logistics Cost Optimization

• Floating Transportation tender & Making Negotiation strategies, conduction reverse auctions/Tenders, combining freight negotiations for clubbing volumes.
• Identify and address opportunities to improve efficiency in logistic for cost reduction including change in mode mix, godown locations etc. bulk international movements.

Visiting customers regularly to get their feedback on our logistics performance & to improve customer satisfaction.

• Planning customer visits. Getting feedback from customers by sending feedback Performa.
• Timely attending customer complaints. Organising Workshop for safe handling of our products.
• Arranging Transporter meet to improve customer service experience.

Logistics Safety Monitoring & Action Plan for Zero Vehicle-Related Incidents.

• Implementing Road and driving Safety Stands in for safe delivery of Finished Goods.
• Coordinating With the Central Control Tower for Implementing GPS Control and action Plan Towards Deviation by Transporters.
• Control & Monitoring of Inwards Gate Checking Agency for Maintaining Safety Standards.

Major Challenges:

• The unit is manufacturing Caustic Soda lye, Liquid Chlorine, Hydrochloric Acid, Sodium Hypochlorite which are hazardous in nature & have limitation in storage capacities. Hence day to day dispatches of targeted quantity is a must. Therefore, arrangement of required logistics i.e. `Lorry Trucks/Tankers/rake at economical rate is important for units to sustain production.
• Nature of all the products being transported are Hazardous in nature, thus safety become a key challenge. Training drivers, Fit tanker & drivers, ensuring enroute safety using GPS, compliance to all statutory safety norms becomes a herculean task & convincing transporters to follow such norms is also difficult.
• Government is enforcing CMVR with all strictness after recent amendment where there is multi fold rise in penalties for noncompliance, thus ensuring compliances in itself is a big challenge in India.
• Cl2 tonner rotation is very critical for plant operation, thus lifting back tonners from geographically widely spread customers is again a big challenge and secondly GAP in CL2 supply demand makes it even more challenging. Push sales to customers more than their consumption leading to shortage of empty tonners for filling
• Under current Indian Logistics Sector which is highly traditional and unorganized, it become challenging to innovate & implement ideas with transporters. In recent time faced lot of challenge in digitalization of transport management due to high cost of such initiatives. Making Negotiation strategies, conduction reverse auctions/Tenders, combining freight negotiations for clubbing volumes.
• Customer satisfaction is very important and this is big challenge as needs of customers are changing in terms of deliveries, type of vehicles, safety, contract terms & conditions etc.
• Variety in products in CAPs and VAPs leads to different type of vehicles and also it renders difficulties in clubbing the volumes to manage cost.
• Dominance of truck associations in in Ganjam leads to confrontation many times. Hence having coordinal relationship with such associations
