Main purpose of job:
· Project Manager position is responsible for successfully managing customer orders from quote acceptance through execution to invoicing and cash collection while at the same time meeting company targets in regards to as shipped margins and on time delivery. You will also be managing all commercial aspects of the project including budgets, margin performance and risk management. The position works closely with Management, Engineering, Procurement, Quality and other functional areas within the organization to insure that the supplied product meets or exceeds customer requirements.
Candidate must be a self-starter and able to manage multiple larger Projects in various stages of completion, show ability to motivate individuals in multiple departments to ensure the success and timeliness of their projects, and be able to report to upper management the financial health of their Projects throughout the life of the Project.
Maintain detailed design, procurement, manufacturing and assembly programmes and report regularly on project status and deliveries.
Handle commercial issues on received orders, scope of supply discussions, drawing approvals and reviews, and shipping issues as they arise.
Ensuring delivery targets are met in all areas (hardware, documentation)
Interact with the sales managers to ensure timely handovers of new projects
Report regularly on project status both internally and externally.
Monitor the progress of Projects, participate in interdepartmental meetings to discuss forecasted cost and project margins for those Projects, and be able to explain cost over runs if and when they take place
Work with the company ERP system to enter Projects, drive sourcing requirements, build the initial budget, and update the budget as necessary
Provide clear information to Factory / Parent Business Units for manufacturing and driving customer requirements in manufacturing.
Monitor and expedite internal & external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of hardware and software to support OTD of projects across all projects.
Maintain up-to-date project costs and provide periodic reports on project status and performance to management and the client, working to budgets and delivering to margin
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with company policy to ensure safe working environment.
Interact and respond to all aspects of the Howden Business Management System
Review and continually improve current processes in line with project management methodologies

Accountabilities:
Effectively monitor project costs to meet or exceed budgeted project margin. Coordinate the timely release of customer progress billing, as applicable.
Maintain visibility on both internal and external tasks/issues affecting the timely execution of assigned projects.
Maintain internal systems, controls, and project files as necessary. Assist with logistics functions as necessary.
Introduce process improvements by working with project management, sales, procurement, logistics, etc.
Work closely with Proposals, Engineering and Quality functions for guidance on complex and technical issues. Other duties as assigned by management.
Partners with all central functions to ensure that strategies and tactics are in place and are consistent with broader business strategies and tactics.

Escalate the issues adversely affecting business in time with counter measures.
Team Management, Contract Negotiations, and Contract Closure, Follow the Howden Guidelines on Contractual conditions & Payment Terms.
Support accounts and finance department for on time receipt of outstanding payments.
Monthly Review Meetings with Product Business Units on Important Topics, Backlog Reports, Improvements etc.
Skills, knowledge & behaviours:
Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours.
18+ years of experience, having Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in a Business, Engineering or related field.
Leading Projects Outside Factories, building EPC capabilities for turn-key Projects working independently and managing within time, schedule and customer requirements.
Relevant commercial business experience with engineered products, as well as services and in managing distribution and sales channels, Industrial, PCOG & Heavy Industries. (Preferably turn-key EPC Projects).
A knowledge of compressor systems and rotating equipment system / process & system design
Experience of dealing with supply chain and having established contacts with its key vendors for Rotary / Statics Packages.
Understanding and experience of Material and, more generally, Enterprise Resource Planning (MRP and ERP like Microsoft D365, SAP, Oracle etc.)
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Project Schedule (MS Project), maintenance and implementation.
Familiarity & understanding of applicable specs for Rotating Equipment, Vessels, Coolers, Aux skids, Motors, Piping, Panels & Instruments as well as costing trends as per requirement.
Knowledge of Project Management methodologies and responsibilities.
Knowledge and experience of customer and supplier contract management
Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation and customer issue resolution skills.
Customer Handling (Clients / End Users / EPCs) Skills.
Integrity and high moral and ethical standards.
Able to work independently managing time, schedules and customer interface.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential.
Hands on product & application knowledge of the complete Howden product range.
Desirable skills, knowledge & behaviours
Understanding of the diversity and cultural differences and how to operate effectively in the Indian region.
Knowledge of related products (Compressors/Blowers/Heaters/Fans) and industry (PCOG/Industrial/Power).
Experience as Project Manager in turn-key / EPC Projects is desirable
