I’m currently in the fourth year (Bachelor of Planning). While pursuing the degree, I have been thoroughly trained in Data Research, conducting/designing Surveys, Literature Study, Data Analysis, Data Visualization, Spatial representation and giving presentations. Throughout the course, I’ve done numerous GIS based analysis (Terrain, Watershed, Buffer analysis, Land Suitability etc.). I’m very familiar with MS Office, photoshop, illustrator, Rhino (3D urban diagrams, thermal building analysis) and SPSS.
I’m trained in Regional Planning, Master/ Development Plans, Zonal Development Plans, Site Planning (site analysis, site design), Transport Planning (Traffic Volume Studies, Pedestrian Studies, Walkability Analysis and street design). My work in studio projects reflect proficiency in literature research, story-telling, data analysis and design. I advocate for sustainability and environmental protection passionately. I also believe that design can highly affect the mental and physical health of individuals, which is why I center my research around it. I have good writing and documentation skills and have articles published in an international book by TU Delft, Netherlands. I am consistent, sincere and possess a good work ethic.
I’ve grown up around nature and I’m very passionate about the environment. From the very beginning of my course, I was oriented towards Environment Planning. Environmental issues are what concerns me the most. I think that’s because people easily sweep it under the carpet like nothing. I’m from Haridwar. And it’s so sad to see the number of disasters that are happening frequently. Usually, people think that natural disasters can’t be prevented because that’s not in our control. But that’s not true, plans can be made differently which don’t disturb natural ecosystems, cities can be made more resilient towards them.
I believe that sustainability shouldn’t be an option amongst different types of development models, rather it should be the default one. It’s not that environment needs us, but we need it, to live. I think I’d be a perfect fit to their internship program as I’m deeply passionate about subjects around environment, sustainability and climate change. According to my skillset, I’d be a positive addition.
