Candidate Message

Dear Sir/Ma’am,

I am Ronith Nair, a 3rd year BTECH student at Manipal University Jaipur. I am writing to apply for the position of UI/UX Design Intern. My interest in User Experience Design grows from my fascination with the psychology of human beings and how we can solve complex problems that help businesses achieve their goals. I hope to make an impact on the real world by being part of IITB.

To further pursue my interests in this field, I worked at a Web Agency (White Label Resell) as a UX/UI Designer. My tasks at the agency involved wireframing website designs for a B2B eCommerce that would sell businesses and white labelled agency services. The design decisions made were based on heuristic data, qualitative research, competitor analysis and collaborative team decisions. Besides this, my responsibilities included collaborating with the other departments to optimise the efficiency of the design process using openAI. These experiences have enabled me to prioritise tasks and research/learn the needs of large-scale projects under tight deadlines. I believe that interning at IITB will bring a new perspective to my design thinking process.

Being the co-founder of a digital agency has taught me the importance of attention to detail and clear communication which I’ve combined with my user experience skills to help clients achieve their goals. Over the last year, I’ve sharpened my problem-solving skills by taking part in hackathons, among which my team was the runner up of Bengaluru_Moving Hackathon where we were awarded the certification of Mobility Pioneers by YLAC, WRI and the Karnataka government.

Moreover, these experiences, projects and competitions have allowed me to learn the nature of UX research and user-centric design. In addition to all the skills (e.g., prototyping, usability tests, user flows, etc ) that were gained, I learnt to be persistent and solve problems in creative ways.

Each of these projects/achievements presented me the opportunity to Mentor a class of 15 under the ACM Student Chapter Mentorship program. Keeping the same spirit I took the initiative to host the 1st design hackathon in my college under the IEEE Computer Society, as General Secretary of the club. Soon I was fortunate enough to be invited as the speaker at an event (Know Your Domain) to introduce more people to UX/UI Design in my college.
