My interest in applying for the post comes from the transformative grassroots experience of rural India that, I gained during the past few years while working with the farmers and farm based livelihood. It gave me an in-depth experience of rural India, which accounts near about 60 percent of India’s population. I experienced the ergonomics of rural India.
I ‘Saswat Kumar Pani’ from Bhubaneswar, Odisha currently pursuing Ph.D. in Agribusiness Management, where i am working on “Agricultural Sustainability and Farmer Producers Company: An Empirical Inquest in Kalahandi District of Odisha, India.” I am in my advance stage of Ph.D. Along with current research; i do take academic session for MBA on Agribusiness Management, Rural Marketing, Management of Farmer Producers Company and Cooperative, Agricultural Entrepreneurship Management, Project Management and Financial and Cost Accounting, Emerging trend and policy in Agriculture.
Apart from Ph.D. Work, I currently work as a Research Associate in South Asian Nitrogen Hub, UKRI-GCRF at KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar on Nitrogen Management in Agriculture. With respect to the academic and research domain, I am having 4 years of experience. To my contribution I am having good numbers of publication in reputed journals indexed in Web of Science, ProQuest and UGC Journals.
Before coming into academic and research for pursuing Ph.D., I have been working with Syngenta Foundation India in various capacities for about 3 years. Developing Agri-entrepreneurs, improving farmers income through farm diversification, hybrid paddy seed production, liaison, linkages and governance with stakeholders, skill and capacity building of farmers, new extension methods like human resource development, ICT based tools, extending good practices, business development, project proposals, bankable project proposal, credit linkages, micro irrigation development, market linkages, developing Farmer institutions such as SHGs, Farmer Clubs, Farmer Producers Company/Organisation are the areas I gained experience and learning.
My Masters is in Agribusiness Management from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and Bachelor in Commerce from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack. During my leisure I play violin, read books and paintings.
Some of my interest areas which I regularly and repeatedly explore to work are agricultural policy and governance, supply chain, innovations and entrepreneurship in agriculture.
I believe that all my experience and learning have helped me develop a progressive mind-set, build resilience and perform productively. With this, I rest my case.
