Dear Hiring Manager,
The mysteries of nature have fascinated me since childhood and the quest to unravel these mysteries has been my passion since then. This was the motivating and driving force that brought me to the India’s most renowned research laboratory: Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB). My graduation from the Indian Institute of Technology, Indore and postdoctoral experience in IISc and IITB bring me into the state to qualify for this position. I have gone through the detailed advertisement of a material chemist position and I realized the company is looking for someone who has experience in material chemistry (Synthesis and characterization). Given these requirements, I am confident that I have the necessary skills to successfully adapt to the job and perform above expectations.
I am a highly motivated and progress-focused researcher with a long-standing background in the field of material chemistry. Currently, I am independent postdoctoral fellow at IITB where I am working on metal oxides nanomaterials (copper based and Ca Cobalt oxides) as an electrocatalyst for glycerol oxidation, water splitting and sensors. Additionally, I have also synthesis experience of 1D/2D mis-fit metal oxides/sulphides (LaS2-TiS2). In the past, my graduate research experience was focused on the development of solution-based approach for the fabrication of doping induced shape-selective metal oxide or mixed metal oxide composites by manipulating growth regimes such as kinetic and thermodynamic parameters during the course of the reaction. I explored and illustrated the physical and structural parameters (counter ions, medium, Temperature etc) of the as-prepared metal oxides materials that literally affect the performance of the materials, which are used as electrocatalyst, nanozyme and catalyst. I believe the nature of my research relates to your lab because, as the leading institution on material research, my chosen field of study is extremely relevant to your efforts. My past research experience has provided me an opportunity to gain hands-on experience on SEM, TEM, EDS, BET, XRD, NMR, FT-IR, and electrochemical work station. I think my knowledge and experience surrounding electrocatalytic application and nanozymes could aid in your research.
