Place in organization: Software Test Engineer is part of Visa Token ID and reports to the Software Test Manager / Senior Test Manager. The role has no direct reports for this role. Purpose of the role: Software Test Engineer will be responsible for the quality of the deliverable. Responsibilities (tasks): * Will report to Software Test Manager / Sr. Test Manager. * Primarily responsible for quality of the software development and deployment. * Analyze the Use cases/User Stories/ Requirements in Jira for validity and feasibility. * Determine a test plan after analyzing the specification and Impact Analysis. * Create test design in the test management tool, test Data and Automation scripts for testing and maintain the traceability. * Provide estimations on demand. * Understanding of the solutions that are being tested. * Understanding the project and product requirements. * Configure the test software/environment in which the test will be performed. * Perform all levels of testing, Sanity, Smoke, System, Integration, Regression, Certification Test etc., * Perform manual or automated testing as per the test plan and ensure sufficient test coverage. * Detect issues with Software deliverable or Documentation or Jira and raise and track the Software defects and inconsistencies. Testing our products at a functional as well as technical level, with a focus on black box testing. * Perform peer review within the project. * Validate the test results and document and report the current result to management like Test Lead, Test Team Lead, Test Manager, Technical Project Manager, Project Manager, etc., * Responsible for the CICD process, like monitoring Jenkin, ensuring the pipelines are up to date. * Attend meeting like Team Meeting, Stand Up Meeting, Retrospective meeting etc., * Co-ordinate across teams in case of debugging issues and build a good rapport with the development team. * Participate in all the Agile ceremonies. * Look out for opportunities and improve the process efficiently. * Mentor and Guide team member. * Provide Support during project releases and attend Customer meeting incases needed. * Provide timely solutions. * Be ready to learn new technologies and implement the same in the projects. * Might be a part of interview Panel. * Maintain information security in the workplace and in the organization. Performance indicators: * The number of defects found by the customers should be less than the number of defects found by the QA team. * Total number of defects should have a decreasing graph. Necessary level/education/experience/knowledge: – The candidates must have recent automation testing experience with 2 to 3+ years of automation testing. – Should have broad understanding of Software engineering concepts and Testing Methodology. – Have in depth experience in impact analysis, test design and test Execution. – Strong background in test automation with a focus on APIs. – Automated testing APIs using SOAP UI/Ready API. – Strong experience with scripting language like Groovy/Java Script. – Experience with Android Application Testing and Junit Framework. – Experience with test Automation tools like: Selenium and Appium(preferred). – Experience with version Control tools. – Experience with continuous Integration tools like Jenkins. – Have experience working in an Agile environment. – Programming and Debugging skills are must have. – Should have hands on with Jira and test management tools like QC, ALM or QTEST. – Experience and knowledge of continuous delivery and/or continuous integration. – Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written; able to communicate with technical people as well as management and business if required. – Working experience in Payments or Finance Domain. – Experience of using GIT. – Fluent in Java and object-oriented development. – Working knowledge of SQL. – Experience on non-functional testing such as performance, security and penetration testing are advantages. – Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree. – ISTQB Foundation Certified (Advance level would be a plus). – Strong organized, multi-tasking and time management skilled. – Flexible with the ability to and work under pressure. – Proactive, strong minded, quick thinker and assertive. – Team player. – Good communication skills. – The drive to continuous personal improvement. – Ability to motivate and inspire others within the team. – Flexible/ Adaptable.
