Job Title: Manager – Risk & Compliance
Purpose of job:
Service Compliance and risk Manager is responsible for process audits, assessment of segregation of duties for critical profiles, risk reviews, compliance assessment, fraud prevention and implementing code of conduct in business process functions.
In addition to the above, the role requires implementation of the workstreams such as Information Security, Cyber Security and Business Continuity in the BPS.
The role is a first line defence for all BPS processes independently reporting to Senior Manager BPS.
Role Context :
BPS operates in 24*7 operations, with any 2 week offs in a calendar week (doesn’t necessarily mean a Saturday or Sunday).
The role is required to work closely with senior manager operations and customer services.
There are 5 key process in BPS involving approx. 300 – 400 resources – both front and back office.
The individual is required to operate in a secured environment i.e. access to personal belongings and mobile phones or any other electronic devices is not allowed on production floor.
Main opportunities/challenges for this role
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
Audit / Control Assurance
Conduct first line audit/in house audits for BPS (end-to-end)
Prepare and share audit reports with the Senior Manager Business Process Services as per the annual audit plan.
Ensuring all observations raised in audits are provided with adequate corrective actions with defined timelines and are closed within those timelines.
Attending meetings with auditees to develop an understanding of business processes
Providing ad hoc advice and guidance on Internal controls, as subject matter expertise
Performing risk assessments on key business activities and using this information to guide what should be covered in audits
Supporting and facilitation of external audits for the BPS.
Develop/ support /provide consultancy and implement appropriate process management controls in delivery functions.
Work closely with Senior Manager in establish the right practices as per the industry best practices.
Risk Management
Establish and implement risk management in BPS (as per the global guidelines)
Conduct risk assessments for all BPS processes.
Providing support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the BPS.
Providing consulting support being the subject matter expert (SME) for risk management.
Compliance management
Establish and implement compliances as required in individual processes.
Conduct Compliance audits on a regular basis.
Prepare compliance audit reports and share the same with Senior Manager BPS.
Ensure all weaknesses are addressed with support from process managers
Counter Fraud management
Shall support in all Counter Fraud related work as and when required
Shall conduct Segregation of duties assessments for all critical roles in all BPS processes and ensure all conflict of interests are addressed through appropriate controls.
Code of Conduct management
Shall conduct trainings on compliances/risk management/code of conduct etc to ensure behaviors is embedded at every level in the processes
Information Security and other mandatory compliances:
Read, understand and comply with the information security policies.
Raise incident / blow whistle when observe any noncompliance to information security or IELTS compliance related policies.
Ensure compliances to Organisational policies like code of conduct, IT policy etc.
Qualifications
Graduation or equivalent (Minimum 60%)
Certified ISO 9001 as auditor
Certified green belt
Role specific knowledge and experience
Work experience in the field of Compliance and risk management.
Meet English language proficiency at a minimum level of IELTS band 7 or equivalent internationally recognised qualification – communication skills will also be judged in the voice and accent assessment round.
Expert in Audit Management and in conducting Internal Audits
Expert in ERM
Expert in Compliance Management
Expert in Counter Fraud management
Ability to conduct sessions on risk management, especially risk identification and assessment.
Ability to conduct all types of audits e.g., process audits, financial audits, fraud audits/investigations, etc.
Able to simultaneously manage tasks for multiple processes
Be proficient in creating and documenting procedures.
Be proficient in conducting audits
Be proficient in managing customer escalations and preparing corrective actions.
Be proficient in managing internal and external audits.
Have great interpersonal and communication skills
Be Versatile. A big part of the BPS function is the willingness to help one another even though it may fall outside of the job description
Motivated self-starter who must be eager to learn and develop as the role expands
