The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: Essential Job Functions Provide Technical solutions in controls Must have sound engineering principles and adhere to business standards, practices, and procedures, to develop product / program requirements. Experience in Controls Architecture for machines Lead and guide the team in Controls and hardware development of locomotive subsystems, from requirements development to model development, testing and validating designs on locomotive and in the simulation lab, utilizing tools like MATLAB, Simulink, Doors and ClearQuest. Lead the investigation, root-cause identification, and resolution of reliability issues. Execute a variety of projects ensuring proper definition of requirements and interfaces for various subsystems Lead the team in design, integration, implementation and validation of the subsystem functions and Human Machine Interface for locomotives Present to customers and suppliers and lead technical endeavors to develop technologies for the railroad industry Ensure that the documentation of technical data generated for the assigned project is consistent with engineering policies and procedures coordinate, support and review technical aspects of opportunities, proposals, and projects with a deep technical understanding of the same and excellent domain knowledge Secondary Job Functions: At Quest, we often challenge our team members to temporarily work outside the scope of their primary job functions to broaden their skills and help the organization. Master in Power electronics / Controls engineering Experience of 15 to 20years in control system design and architecture Expert in RTOS control design, hardware design, diagnostics, or test Desired characteristics: Expert in MATLAB Simulink or other Modeling tools, Extensive knowledge on MBD Practice Experience with Electrical machines, power electronics and logic/algorithm design Expert in system, subsystem, and component level validation testing Expert in designing the HIL system Experience with transportation/locomotive systems control design and test Experience with Human Machine Interface and human factors analysis for embedded systems Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools (i.e., FMEA, Score Cards) Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems Solid oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
