Wood is currently recruiting for a Assistant Manager .
Job Objective:
The Assistant Manager plays an important role in US General Ledger Accounting Process. Reporting to the Manager in Wood’s Finance Shared Services, the Assistant Manager will work closely with the US Accounting team and will be responsible for end to end accounting with more focus on US Payroll accounting, tax, overheads allocation and also assisting others in accounting related queries. The Assistant Manager will be in Individual contributor role involved in day to day accounting of payroll, tax and other transactions but will also be the contact for resolving accounting related queries for other business units and accountants.
Key Responsibilities:
Month end accounting including Prepaid amortization, AR/AP Adjustments, Expense and Tax Accruals, Payroll Accounting including all elements like payroll benefits, vacations, and taxes
Accounting for transactions in multi-currency environment and understanding impact of currency translations
Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations including but not limited to Fixed Assets, AR/AP, Payroll, Intercompany, Accrued Income/Expense, Control & Suspense Accounts, Equity etc and ensuring sign-off of the completeness and accuracy of reconciliation
Overhead (SGA and Indirect) reporting during month-end close in Oracle, ensuring overheads are reported correctly in Hyperion, and delivering monthly overhead reporting complete with commentary on Actuals vs Budget/forecast to the Business and local functions
Help business in the preparation of overhead budgets, rolling forecast and mid-year forecast, with agreement of local functions, working in conjunction with the Business Unit
Ensuring Overhead allocations are posted correctly per business and legal entity i.e. Real Estate, IT, Insurance
Act as a focal point for internal and external audits, working in conjunction with the Business Unit, to ensure ongoing queries and information requests are completed in a timely and proper manner
Liaising with the Compliance team, to ensure all information is received as required for legal entity statutory reporting, working in conjunction with the business where required for additional analysis for disclosures
Execution of various ad hoc financial analysis and tasks as and when required
Manage complete Fixed Assets life cycle including Addition, disposal, running depreciation to ensure Accurate reporting of fixed Assets balance during month end
Qualifications:
Degree & professionally qualified – CA, ACCA, CMA
Ideally working towards a further professional postgraduate accounting qualification
Experience:
8+ years of extensive experience in the respective functional area
Should have exposure of working in corporate office / head office
Knowledge, skills and experience:
A thorough understanding of Accounting policies and good knowledge of IFRS.
Significant experience in R2R or other key finance role advantageous
Ability to contribute to a high performing team
Experience using oracle, HFM and Blackline advantageous
High levels of cultural awareness, sensitivity and discretion
Knowledge of corporate governance and decision making

Knowledge on US payroll and taxes will be an advantage
