: Job Location: Hyderabad, India Purpose : This is a Technical role to manage technical design deliverables for New Product Development (NPD) programs. Depending on the project’s complexity, this can be for the subsystem Design Lead role for a complex NPD or Design Manager role for multiple simple NPDs. Even though this role may involve managing the Design Team, this is not a pure people management role but a technically oriented one. Work alongside product managers, cross functional teams and leadership in shaping and supporting the design deliverables, and manage day-to-day operations for your team Oversee the planning, delivery, and (people) management for a team of engineers Be accountable for the system designs to fulfill both functional and non-functional requirements, that enables building a reliable product Candidate Requirement: Education: Master or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: 15+years overall experience with minimum 10+ years of strong technical experience in full life cycle Product design & development. At least 5 programs life cycle hands on experience from requirements to product launch. Experience in Laboratory products domain is an added advantage. Proven capability in handling mechanical & thermal engineering systems along with expertise in Electro-mechanical systems. Should be technically strong and should have prior experience as a Design Manager for complex full life cycle New Product Development Programs. Bring predictability & visibility of the team’s delivery to all relevant stakeholders, which includes making complex technological assessments to improve the quality of decision making. Develop and instill a culture of maintaining highest levels of development practices including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation & execution, issue identification and resolution, quality assurance with repeatable quality and predictability Proven track record in handling team of engineers with different engineering domains like Software, Hardware, Firmware, Electrical engineering, Mechanical & Thermal for integrated product development. Take responsibility for the culture, mentorship, development, and career management of your team members with guidance from senior leaders Establish a high performing, inclusive engineering culture focused on innovation, execution, growth and development Experience in manufacturing process not limiting to Sheet metal, Fabrication, Plastics, forging, etc. Awareness on global regulatory requirements, certification and engineering standards Help prioritize and deliver project goals and objectives within a matrix reporting structure Develop and maintain project budgets and resource plans across the department to meet the business unit objectives. Develop, maintain, and present regular project status reports, escalations, and solutions to leadership and key stake holders Organize and facilitate regular project planning meetings, daily/weekly stand-ups, work breakdown structure updates, design reviews, and other project-related key milestone commitments. Support India Engineering Centre initiatives and development objectives Other Capabilities & Requirements: Willing to travel based on need. Excellent written and oral communication skills Innovation thought process Good Team player creating a successful work environment Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other geos (Mainly – Europe, the USA) Good time management skills, prioritization abilities Interest in domain competency enhancement Must have excellent managerial/personnel skills. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving mindset, analytical & critical thinking skills. Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with direct reports.
