Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Commodity: –
Responsible for Estimating the SBC of Part or System.
Strong knowledge in part production cycle times, material utilization and Bill of Materials (BOM)
Process knowledge in Casting, Forging, Machining & Sheet metal
Must be well verse with manufacturing process and key cost driver to each process.
Value stream Mapping
Apply standard costing procedures for Product/Process & review cost structures from time to time.
Responsible for the development and long-term ownership of cost estimating models for Parts.
Support part level costing for competitor vehicle teardown exercises for benchmarking purposes.
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities along with process efficiency improvements.
Awareness of VAVE, STC, DTC etc.
Support Business case proposal with PCL/Platform Team.
Support Engineering/Design in evaluating design proposals
Implement, maintain and update associated cost analysis with technical data.
Others: –
Awareness of CV range Supplier and Product base
A passion for understanding emerging technologies and subsequent key cost drivers
Analytical ability to solve problems that are unique and sometimes complex.
Familiar with product structure, model viewing & measurements.

Critical Experience
Commodity specific Requirement:
In depth knowledge of Commodity and commodity trends
Commodity Systems Know How – BIW , Sheet metal stamping parts, Axle & shafts, Suspension, Brakes , HVAC, Steering,
Processes Know How – Stamping, Welding , Forging , Casting & machining
Know How of Commodity cost drivers.
Experience in interaction with Commodity supplier base
Commodity special process/Materials
VAVE Levers

Knowledge of Product development cycle
APQP awareness
General Requirement
Knowledge of SAP, Teamcenter, MS Excel and Power point
Able to communicate and present cost data information to senior level leadership.
Ability to assimilate a large amount of cost data and clearly condense / communicate information to stakeholders during meetings to summarize in an efficient way
