Statement of Purpose
I am a Doctor with more than 35 years of Cinical&Administrative experience.
Having worked with different Leading Tertiary care Hospitals across the city in
Senior Leadership positions, I have honed my strengths and still working on
knowledge areas.
They say it is never too to learn and upgrade your knowledge &skills .We gain
knowledge by reading books, journals ,working &interacting with people from
various industries.
My upbringing right from childhood was to question things and learn. This innate
curiosity and quest for more knowledge has inspired me to learn and unlearn few
things. Apart from regular learning at School &College, I also participated in
various other activities such as quiz competitions, essay writing, elocution
competitions.
I was always inspired to think out of the box and innovate. I did my Medicine and
then started doing Family Practice .I was doing very well but after 15 years ,I felt
that I should diversify and do something different. Due to financial constraints, I
could not move on and do a full time MBA in Hospital Management, I managed
with my resources to do a Diploma in Hospital Administration(DHA)&then MBA
in Hospital Administration &M-PHIL in Business Management along with my
jobs.
I moved out of the Clinical role in 2004 and have been working in various Tertiary
care Hospitals in Mumbai in Leadership positions in Medical Administration.
I was fortunate enough to be chosen by IIM for an Executive Course in Hospital
Management in June—2017.It is a world class institute with bright minds and
mentors who help you to actively question all facets of a problem and arrive at
solutions. The interactive discussions, workshops, presentations were highly
stimulating and energizing. Your brain and mind yearns for more and does not stop
questioning
With proclivity towards learning, this desire is at the peak and what best can guide
me than a Strategic Management Program from IIM(Ahmedabad).
My long term objective is to be a Leader known for his ability to identify, innovate
execute and have a challenging approach to incumbent business methodologies.
Skills &Achievements
• A strategic, people-oriented leader with senior-level experience within
complex health environments, I enjoy leading and influencing change and
have a genuine passion for working with the community and other key
stakeholders to improve health outcomes.
• As an astute negotiator and influencer at the highest level, I bring to the
table outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong record of fostering
collaborative partnerships.
• I have qualified with a M-PHIL in Business Management and good at
Man Management skills and excellent knowledge of Hospital &Business
Management
• I have been responsible for starting Academic Courses at many of the
leading hospitals .This effectively strengthened the Clinical Services of
the Organization.
• I have been implementing many of the quality initiatives like TQM in the
hospitals which were greatly appreciated by the Management.
• Clinical initiatives like clinical meetings &grand rounds were also put
into place.
• A core committee for NABH was formed under my leadership.
My main aim is creating future leaders who have the same desire to question the
status quo and are willing to unlearn in order to learn again for the future.
The General Management program(GMP) from ISB will help develop a mind-set
and learning tools to analyze internal &external environment of the organization
,formulate strategy for the organizations &then implement it.
We need to strike a balance between technical knowledge and managerial acumen.
The General Management program(GMP program will contribute towards industry
wide need for managerial acumen.
I am interested in learning more about the factors that affect competitive
performance of a business and the manner in which changes in technology, Social
Media affect an Organizations structure, product development ,long term business
strategy ,information technology needs.
I have ability to learn new things and unlearn old things. My plans for the future
would short term &long term. The short term goals would supplement the long
term goals.
Learning from a General Management program(GMP Program from one of the
most reputed names in the Country will position me at the forefront of
management education allowing me access to business leaders, the exposure ISB
provides in terms of its alumni &world class Management
Eventually I plan to train young management trainees for Leadership roles so that
we have created a dependable set of leaders to lead the Healthcare systems across
the Country.
