Candidate Message

Respected Sir/Madam,

Self-driven, motivated and responsible, I am seeking an opportunity to do an internship with United Nations .  I am currently pursuing BA (hons) Chinese (5th semester) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. During my coursework, I have developed a passion for research work on Sustainable Development and other policy matters and I am intrigued and excited by the impact and exposure it could provide for me. I intend to pursue independent research and I staunchly believe that a good internship would consolidate my future career choice. I am personally interested in social development, conservation of ecosystem and disaster risk reduction. I have always been known to be inquisitive, dedicated, sincere and hardworking. I am proficient in MS- Word, MS- Excel and MS- PowerPoint.

I have completed my 1 year diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership which has helped me get an idea about the various policy interventions and strategies. I have also completed a 1 year certificate course in English Writing and Communication from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. The optional subjects I have taken up during my 3 year degree course: Introduction to Political System, Introduction to UN System, Introduction to Gulf, India-China Relations ( 2 semesters) and German language (4 semesters) will also help me to do my work diligently.
I have also done a couple of other courses:
New Business Models of Societies – University of Virginia
Customer Retention Management – University of Chicago
Intellectual Property Rights – World Trade Organization ( via correspondence)
I am confident that the training and skills I have received from these courses will help me prove to be a very valuable asset to your team.
Interning with UN will give me a chance to thrive in a multi-cultural environment. It will also help me contribute my share of research and experience  to spread awareness about  sustainable development and other important areas. I believe that with sheer perseverance and consistency, I can change the world one step at a time.
