APM Terminals Mumbai also known as Gateway Terminals India (GTI) is part of APM Terminals global ports/terminal network. It is a joint venture between APM Terminals and the Container Corporation of India (CONCOR – A Government of India undertaking).

APM Terminals Mumbai is amongst the most efficient terminals globally and is the busiest terminal in the country, handling record volumes.

Position Summary

Overall supervision of contracted security personnel. Be the eyes and ears of the organisation and report even the smallest of untoward happenings/incident. Create proper harmony among all the different forces operating on the field. Look after and monitor all the entry/exit points of the terminal. Assist in Terminal Safety and Ops. Assist in traffic control both inside and outside the Terminal and the Central Gate Complex.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct daily briefing of all Security staff & maintain relevant records
• Maintain records of all entry permits and ensure entry of authorized persons & vehicles only within the premises
• To ensure check on Theft & Pilferage activity by being on the ground. Close monitoring of terminal boundaries.
• Provide proper guidance to all Security Guards, Security Supervisor and Security Officers during routine work. Maintain proper man hour records for all guards being deployed.
• Supervise Security Control Room Operations during shifts.
• Guide and supervise fireman and act as emergency responder during emergency.
• Carryout checks, audits and inspections
• Upkeep & maintenance of all Security devices (Radio sets, Megaphones, Marshalling torches, Traffic flags, Electronics barriers etc) & Fire points.
• Participation in Security drills/Mock drills and also is able to conduct similar drills independently for the security guards from time to time.
• Monitoring and control of Access Control System and generate reports from the system.
• To prevent traffic congestion within the terminal or near the exits and outside roads approaching terminal.
• Take charge of the investigations of all reported crimes, injuries, thefts, and unusual incidents. Make necessary reports to document incidents.
• Coordinate with CISF and port authority for port pass and e-port pass. Ensure smooth entry of guests/visitors in the terminal.
• Supervise Visitor Management system for terminal.

Critical Competencies

• 5-7 years of industry experience as Security professional. Additional experience of Safety will have an added advantage.
• A strong passion for keeping our people safe.
• Having sound knowledge of local HSSE legislations, and operational requirements applicable to logistics industry· Good understanding of risk management principles and application of barriers and critical controls.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) and preference for local language
• Ability to work under high pressure.
• Logical thinking with clear data presentation.
• Excellent communication (verbal, writing, presentation) and influencing skills.
• Can work with multiple tasks within timeline.
• Be creative for problem solving and process improvement.
• Being a team member supporting the cross functional teams proactively.
• Ability to build strong effective networks.
• Knowledge of risk management with the ability to identify and highlight risks.
• Knowledge of Health and safety management would be beneficial
