Job Profile:

• Strategic sourcing for R&D project ensures compliant and cost competitive supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), Excipients and packaging materials.

• Take lead on R&D sourcing projects and influence peers, as appropriate, in the leadership of projects for example, cross-functional team members on a sourcing project team.

• Uses thorough market intelligence and data analysis to gain critical insights that drive the selection of API, Excipients & Packaging Sourcing Strategies

• Supports development, recommendation and implementation of sourcing strategies and ensures alignment, compliance and delivery of business requirements/needs of R&D.

• Demonstrates excellence in executing sourcing management process and closely collaborates with Quality, Supply Chain, MSnT, PSnT, Project Management, finance, EHS and Regulatory groups during each step of the process.

• Identify and take steps to reduce business risk through the development of effective sourcing strategies.

• Role is expected to generate required analytical insights appropriate for category such as market trends, supplier profiles, EHS, performance management and develop annual buyer business plan for API, Excipients and packaging categories.

• Prepare detailed pre-negotiation plans, to lead and participate any prolonged negotiation sessions with suppliers and to conduct post negotiations debriefs and follow through plans.

• Long term supply / service agreement with key strategic suppliers for global R&D projects.

• Preparation of monthly MIS of Supplier Enabled Innovation & Sourcing function.

• Preparing should cost model of key API, Excipients and Packaging Materials.

• Implementation of Dual Sourcing for key materials for long term supply continuity.

• Margin Improvement of R&D / Geo Graphical Expansion projects by way of ensuring sustainable cost leadership position of raw and packing materials suppliers with vendor consolidation approach.

Job Specification:

Qualifications:

• B. Pharm or M. Pharm or BE Chemicals

• MBA from Tier 1 institutes

Experience:

• 3-5 years – experience with at least 2 years Strategic Sourcing of API/Excipients/Raw Materials for regulated / semi-regulated market

• Exposure of working in global environment & matrix organization
