Job purpose

As a Senior Engineer – Database Administration, you will be responsible for the design and management of the organization’s database architecture to ensure secure access and availability in accordance with the needs of the business.

What will you do?

Oracle database installation, configuration, support and maintenance
Install, create new databases as and when required.
DB hardening, setup, tuning and Oracle ASM management
Database partitions, tablespace, instance & listener monitoring
Patch management
Database Backup (Oracle RMAN) & Restore
Routine Database Administration support
BAU Support
Ensuring the DR DB is in sync with primary DB
Work with system administrator to identify the hardware/storage/network issues

What do you need to know?

Proven working experience as a Oracle Database administrator
Hands-on experience in Oracle database, ASM, RMAN
Experience with database standards and end user applications
Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security and integrity
Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools
Some basic experience in Maria DB, PostgreSQL will be plus
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree (in engineering or a related subject)
