What are we looking for?

• 8 to 10 years of CA/CWA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent professional qualifications is preferred and experience in Insurance/Banking investments accounting and reporting.
• B. Com or M. Com equivalent Accounting/Management degree with 10 to 12 years of the relevant experience in Insurance/Banking investments accounting and reporting.
• Experience with application of US GAAP / Local STAT (NAIC) accounting is preferred.
• Clear/critical thinking, excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Strong controllership mindset: audit background is required.
• Good experience in handling the larger and complex transitions along with the toll-gates and ensuring smooth stability of the processes by working closely with the Investments Lead.
• Good team leading skills and able to manage bigger teams which are complex and domain-based processes Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
• Ability to balance multiple projects at once, to prioritize appropriately, and to approach the work with a sense of urgency and strong attention to detail to produce high quality results in a time sensitive environment.
• Ability to question the status-quo and drive the teams to build the subject matter expertism in the respective areas.
• High level of motivation and initiative, ability to work independently, including strong organizational and management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good data presentational skills of the data using Excel. As we need to deal with huge files. Knowledge on the Pivot tables, Vlookup, Hlookup, nested if queries is desired as it required for analyzing the data

Roles and Responsibilities

• Expert knowledge on Insurance and Insurance Investments Accounting (Like Bonds, Equities, Loans and Derivatives etc.,) and reporting as per the US GAAP and US Statutory Reporting.
• Good understanding on the Investments Income recognition (ex. Understanding on how Premium and Discount works for Bonds).
• Through understanding of Impairment process, analysis, Cash flows projections for structured securities.
• Review the analytics and forecasting monthly, quarterly, and annual Investment income for various products/Investment Asset classes
• Review Yield vs Coupon analytics and analyze to improve forecast accuracy.
• Able to interpret the Reporting policies, guidelines, and pronouncements.
• Provide analytical support, including management reporting, for senior management.
• Drive the process improvements and participate on the efficiency drives.
• Cross-train with other team members within Investment Accounting and provide support, as deemed necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company relevant policies and procedures for Fixed income accounting & reporting.
• Handle 10-15 investment team members and provide the career path for the team members, coach and mentor them.
• Perform the Performance Appraisals for the team and share the feedback time to time and coach them to improve based on the feedback. Review the KPI’s on periodical basis with RCA documented and closed as required on regular basis
