Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Role will be responsible to develop best in class Visualization which are both visually appealing, providing insights and help to drive action. The person would need to develop KPIs, their definitions and calculation.

This position will be responsible for understanding business problems, designing the appropriate BI solutions and smooth implementation of the same. The role is a mix of hands-on dashboard development, data analysis and solution deployment. The analytics is required to provide business insights and help in taking workforce decisions.

Key Accountabilities & deliverables

Data Understanding & management

• Understand the business requirement to deliver the solution as per customers’ requirements
• Understand efficiency and limitations of the system to design a transformation pipeline. Create fast and efficient solutions.
• Work closely on the data, by querying & transforming the data set to make it available to users in required structure and form
• Write complex transformation queries that can be used for process automation & incremental data load
• Use best of query and coding(python) worlds to design efficient transformation logics
• Understand the efficiency factor of query and python and work-around to avoid heavy functions

Data Analysis

• Perform basic data analysis by understanding key business problems
• Perform data extraction, data transformation, data modelling, maintain data models, reporting systems, dashboards, performance metrics and other leading edge analytical systems that support key business decisions
• Be on top of data quality and understand the nuances of it
• Take care of Master data management and suggest best practices and solutions to the data engineering team.

Power BI Visualization

• Work on end-to-end Power BI reports and dashboard development
• Understanding business problem/objective, developing wireframes & designing appropriate data strategy
• Post development, manage reports for refresh, add alerts and alarms to the reports to keep a track
• To part take in the ongoing HR analytics projects and ensure successful roll-outs. Drive efficient delivery of day-to-day operations, reporting and handling potential issues including identification of risks and highlighting relevant mitigation recommendations.
• Should be keen in the updates of Power BI and implement new features in ongoing projects

Power BI Admin

• Own the admin jobs of Power BI and take necessary actions in case of issues

Ways of working

• Approach problems and issues structurally to find the root cause of the issues in data/processes
• Understand, manage, and own complex data transforming processes
• Good sense of ownership and a team player

ROLEHOLDER REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

• Overall experience of 4+ years in data management, with minimum 3+ years of experience as Power BI developer
• Strong technical expertise in Power BI-Power Query & DAX, best practices for visualization & developing optimized backend architecture
• Advanced excel, with ability to manipulate and analyze data effectively and efficiently
• Excellent in verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in SQL for querying databases to debug any issues, numbers directly at source
• Experience in Python for data analysis, simple visualizations would be a plus.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Graduate with 5 years / Post Graduation with 4 years of experience.
