Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the project team from concept to commissioning, land acquisition, obtaining clearances, finalization of technical specifications of equipment and selection of contractors to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.
• Work with engineers and other stakeholders to develop project plans and design the power plant layout, ensuring it meets all technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and manage the project budget, track expenses, and ensure cost control throughout the project.
• Oversee the procurement of equipment, materials, and services required for power plant construction, and manage the allocation of resources such as labor and machinery.
• Implement technological initiatives for the thermal project to improve business efficiency and value generation.
• Lead the project team in executing construction and installation activities, ensuring they are completed on time and within quality standards.
• Regularly monitor and report the project progress, establishing accountability of systems and processes to ensure smooth operations.
• Guide the project team for vendor selection, contract finalization, and contract management to ensure negotiations provide maximum benefit to the business.
• Enable capability development of employees within the site teams by overseeing the implementation of appropriate systems and policies.
• Optimize the overall project, including finalization of plot, design, balance of plant, flexibility, and margins to ensure the project is executed at the lowest cost.
• Lead the finalization of technical specifications for Boiler, Turbine, and BoP plants and selection of contractors to ensure that equipment is received as per project requirements.
• Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, proactively addressing any issues that arise during the project and ensuring a safe working environment.
• Build strong relationships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and local communities for successful project execution.
• Oversee the commissioning process and ensure a seamless handover to the operations team once the power plant construction is complete.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 25-30 years of experience in the Thermal Project, with end-to-end exposure to at least one supercritical power plant project. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent project management skills.
