Job Description

• Bachelor’s in CS or related field
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as SQL, Perl, Python, XML or Ruby
• 3+ years overall development/technical support experience.
• 3+ years experience in scripting (bash, python, ruby and/or similar)
• Ability to write code in any moden programming language (Java, C++, C#). Java is strongly preferred.
• Ability to understand functional/technical specifications and analyze data
• Strong problem solving skills with great attention to detail, including the ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize the results
• Demonstrates skill and passion for operational excellence and making customers happy.

The Transportation Financial Systems (TFS) team in Hyderabad is looking for a System Development /DevOps Engineer who loves to automate manual steps and ‘doing it even better next time’. If you believe in automation and love system dive deep into customer impacting prod issues, this is the job for you.
What will you own?

• You will own automating steps to on-board new carriers and Amazon businesses to “Transport Financial Systems”. This is is a new automation suite being built from scratch.
• Carriers and Transporters are our customers. You will own customer experience by ensuring any customer impacting tickets are resolved in time with high standards.
• You will be implementing org mandated policies to ensure systems and prod health.
• You will improve dashboards and proactive Alarming for our prod services to ensure high availability and faster incident response.

What interesting engineering problem will you solve?

• You will own building automation of manual processes/steps in our operations. If you love automation, this is the job for you.
• You will contribute to the building and launch of new platforms that will drive the growth of Amazon’s Transport Financial System.
• You will expedite ticket resolution via structured SOPs and by building utilities/tool for faster troubleshooting and recovery of issues. You will dive deep into our code (owned by SDEs) to recommend and make fixes for common recurring issues.
• You will learn latest AWS technologies (Server less computing, KCL, Glue, EMR, ElasticSearch, Kibana, QuickSight etc) used in our data pipeline that handles TBs of data everyday.

• Experience working with relational databases, distributed computing technologies, Serverless Computing Concepts and pipelines handling TBs of data.
• Debugging and troubleshooting skills, with an enthusiastic attitude to support and resolve customer problems
• Able to document incidents and their root causes. Writing details standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manual tasks before they are automated.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues
• Experience in a 24/7 production environment is a strong plus
