AWS IoT Greengrass offers an open-source Internet of Things (IoT) edge runtime, a set of pre-build device software and various cloud services that helps you build, deploy and manage IoT applications on millions of devices. Customers can use AWS IoT Greengrass to build software that enables devices to act locally on the data that they generate, run predictions based on machine learning models, and filter and aggregate device data.
We are looking for a passionate Engineering Leader with strong ownership to develop mission critical AWS Greengrass features to work locally – from smart homes, wearables, medical devices, automobiles, intelligent industrial automation and more – in conjunction with our backend cloud services. This is a new area that provides exciting challenges and new and diverse learning opportunities in an industry leading area.
The members of the AWS IoT Greengrass team are technologists from diverse backgrounds who obsess over our customer’s needs and feel a strong sense of ownership. The team is focused on delivering new capabilities and ensuring the service is secure and operationally sound and the team enjoys operating in an agile and collaborative manner.

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.
