Provide support for significant environmental issues, and facilitate environmental Management processes for the Chlor-Alkali and VFY Business-India in order to help units ensure that operations are conducted within regulations and provide guidelines to the units for identifying key operational processes and put in place continual improvements for the identified processes.

KRA1 Environment Management

• Develop and drive Environment Management System across units as per ABG Environment Policies and Sustainability Standards, in order to ensure implementation.
• Prepare Business Policies and develop business plans and verify the adherence to policy
• Assist the Unit Environment teams to comply with environment laws and applicable regulations and alert them about the future expected changes and updates time to time.
• Support units and update to environment standards w.r.t. process operations.
• Carry out Environment Assessment / Audits at intervals not less than once in two at each location.
• Represent the Business in various forums, association and platforms
• Facilitate for the Projects / Greenfield projects by identifying the key environment requirement for integrating them quickly into the EMS in line with ABG Group Policy and as per the Chlor-Alkali & VFY Business Policies & Standards and Procedures

KRA2 Water Management

• Monitor the total water usage for all purposes and track the sources from which water is consumed and suggest for reduction and plan as per the Group and Business targets.
• Work with the unit manufacturing teams to target reduction in water consumption in the applicable process
• Support to Chlor Alkali units for standardized the strategy for operation of Zero Liquid Discharge System through benchmarking in process, replicating the best practice of other units and suggest for implementation.
• Research and Develop alternate water sources, increase storage capacity, economically using sea water and recycling used water, identifying the requirements, plan & engagement of consultants for required studies with the unit teams

KRA3 Waste generation and management

• Monitor and explore usage of All types of waste including hazardous wastes, working with unit teams for reduction and proper management as per Hazardous Waste Management rules
• Support sites for effective segregation, storage and disposal of all types of wastes through Comprehensive Waste Management Strategy in all units.
• Work with the units for implementation of waste reduction/utilizing opportunities through different processes & coprocessing for cement kiln and others.
• Facilitate the units and Implement the pollution prevention projects through identification of waste-reduction opportunities
• Support Sites for assess the requirement of Hazardous waste assessment, required consultation from external parties, monitoring and analysis and communicate the applicable rule and regulation requirements
• Support units on the Plastic Waste Management rules, their applicability within the units and compliance aspects.

KRA4 Air Pollution Control Management

• Analysis and Reporting of Air Pollutants data in terms of Process and Ambient Air from Chlor alkali units ensuring their effective control through pollution control systems and routine measurement checks through Online monitoring systems and their effectiveness in line with the regulations.
• Internal Analysis of Third Party Monitoring and OCEMS data, improvement needs communication and support for implementation in units.

KRA5 Sustainability Management & Practices

• Implementation of Environment Sustainability Standards, across the units and Facilitate for the implementation across the units
• Supports Chlor alkali sites for implementation of best management practices for Environment management as per the ABG sustainability guidelines and develop environment dashboard for Chlor alkali units at business level
• Collect, compile the environment data of all the units for analysis and identify improvement opportunities through benchmarking.
