Executive / Assistant Manager – Direct Tax

Reports To: Head – Taxation

Job Purpose:

To support the organization in managing direct tax compliance, reporting, and assessments. The role involves assisting in income tax filings, TDS compliance, tax audits, and ensuring adherence to applicable direct tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Tax Compliance:
• Assist in preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns. Ensure timely and accurate TDS deduction, payment, and return filing (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.).
• Monitor and manage advance tax computations and payments.

• Tax Audits & Assessments:
• Support in preparation of tax audit reports (Form 3CD) and related documentation.
• Assist in handling income tax assessments, scrutiny notices, and departmental queries.
• Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and internal teams for data collation and responses.

• Transfer Pricing Support:
• Assist in maintaining transfer pricing documentation and supporting data.
• Coordinate with consultants for TP study reports and compliance filings (Form 3CEB).

• Reconciliations & Reporting:
• Perform reconciliations between tax records and financial statements.
• Prepare MIS reports and dashboards for direct tax compliance and status.

• Regulatory Updates & Implementation:
• Stay updated with changes in direct tax laws and notify relevant stakeholders.
• Support implementation of new tax provisions and system/process updates.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
• 2–6 years of experience in direct taxation, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment.
• Working knowledge of Indian Income Tax Act, TDS provisions, and tax audit requirements.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of direct tax laws and compliance framework.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
