As part of our team, we are looking for:
A passionate database software integration/development engineer to be part of the CNS Common Software Foundation (CSF) database domain team. The ideal candidate will be someone with a positive attitude, a passion for innovation, and is an excellent communicator. In addition to exceptional design skills, a candidate should have experience working with product development and should possess a user-centric approach to design with an awareness of SW design best practices.
As a database software integration/development engineer and a member of the CSF team, you will be responsible for the development of reusable database-related assets and services for use across the Nokia CNS product portfolio.
You will ensure that these assets are produced with a high degree of quality assurance incorporating logic robustness, maintainability, and easy to use. Additionally, you will support the product teams as they integrate the software into CNS applications and will provide development support to product groups that are consuming this software.
Job Responsibilities and Competencies
Build and deliver software at scale to produce impact to CNS Products and Services.
Lead, collaborate, and Coordinate multiple SW development and support activities independently among CNS/CSF R&D teams (involving development and support) and prioritize conflicting demands.
Participate in all aspects of software development activities including Free Open Source Software (FOSS) and enterprise/commercial database software integration along with the associated software installation and maintenance tools’ design, code development, review, testing and change management.
Lead by example to build a culture of innovation with automation.
Help domain shape and optimize its SW development processes and practices
Follow all Nokia Information Security policies and guidelines including ISMS (ISO27001 program)
Your skills and experience

Up to one year of experience working with one or more Opensource (FOSS) and/or commercial databases – MariaDB, CassandraDB (Apache & DataStax), RedisDB (RedisLabs and Redis.io), MongoDB, etc.
Up to one year of experience on design, development, and integration of databases and their use within Any-Cloud platforms including Software as a Service implementations.
Working knowledge in container development and deployment technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Helm charts.
Knowledge on AnyCloud SW deployments and maintenance activities – AWS, OCP, Tanzu, etc. is a plus
Hands on trouble shooting skills in cloud environments.
Hands on coding experience in Python, shell (required), java, go (preferred a plus), C/C++(optional)
Additional skills to have are:
Applicant should have experience working with database performance and security compliance testing in Linux OS based SW (CentOS, Rocky, RedHat)
Knowledge in technology methodologies (SaaS, Service Oriented Architecture, software & hardware development practices)
Ability to work in an Agile Scrum environment.
Outstanding proactive communication skills – written, verbal, presentations.
Team oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative Global R&D environment.
Self-driven, analytical, and results oriented with proven sound judgement .
BE/BS degree in computer science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
