The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

What you will learn and contribute to

• Managing and motivating software developers and other team members toward successful software release implementation and delivery

• Working with other software managers to coordinate software release milestone estimates and planning including resource assignment

• Negotiating with Product Line Management and other key stakeholders to determine release scope and date

• Working with other R&D teams: System Engineering, which supplies requirements, Test, and other Software managers to plan releases and ensure releases and intermediate milestones stay on schedule

• Tracking milestones, deliverables, and modification requests

• Communicating status, including schedule and scope changes, risks, and blocking dependencies

• Your skills and experience

• Looking for an experienced software manager with strong technical, managerial, organizational, and communication skills to lead a group of software engineers in the development of planning tools that support Nokia’s 1830 Photonic Service Switch family of products.

• Experienced software manager with at least 5 years of management experience

• At least 5 years of software development experience

• Strong technical, managerial, organizational, and communication skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant field.

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field is desirable but not required.

• Software Development Process Management including planning, developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions

• Applicable technological areas:

• Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, AngularJS, JavaScript, C+

• • Client/Server development

• Web-based development

• Applicable domain areas:

• Optical Networking (WDM/OTN/Packet)

• Network Management

• Network Planning

• GMPLS

• Agile Methodology
