Application Engineer is a customer facing role within the Emission Control business unit providing application support, product engineering, and technical marketing for the sale of automotive ceramic fiber products. The engineer provides technical support and education to both internal and external customers. The engineer is qualified to assist with component level testing of emission control devices.

Responsibilities:
Completes application engineering requests for catalytic converter mounting mat. Requests normally originate from Customers or Sales Engineers.

Support the sale of exhaust insulation by providing technical support for insulation designs.

Provide technical support to customers as requested including drawings.

Use MTS equipment to complete material testing and characterization.

Completes technical service requests and writes reports as assigned.

Maintain communication to build relationships with customers and Sales Engineers.

Provide product samples according to customer needs. May be required to manage the sample system for providing samples of commercial products.

Develop presentation materials for education of customers on the use of catalytic converter mounting materials developed by Unifrax.

Qualifications:
Must be self-directed, competent in managing time and project management.

B.S. degree or higher education in engineering discipline with 5 or more years of experience, preferably in automobile exhaust industry.

Excellent communication in verbal and written in English, interpersonal and sales skills. Fluency in other Indian languages including Hindi is desirable.

Expert level use of personal computers, including Microsoft Office – especially important is the expert use of Microsoft Excel. Must be able to use a computer e-mail system for daily communications.
