About Alstom in India

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To ensure the implementation of the welding process in production

RESPONSIBILITIES:
In production ensure the use of correct Welding Procedure Specification in welding.

Training & Qualification of Welders & Welding Operators.

Ensure the correct storage and use of welding consumables & Parent material

Before welding.

Ensure the joint preparation, fit-up, jigging and tacking

Special Requirements or Additional measures to prevent distortion.

During Welding

Use of welding parameters as per Welding Procedure specification.

Preheat/ Interpass temperature

Use of correct welding sequence

Correct use and handling of consumables

After Welding

Performance of Visual Inspection & other NDT methods.

Health & Saftey : All relevant EHS rules and regulations shall be considered and obeyed.

Support Welding Engineer in performance of Welding Procedure Qualification.

Support Welding Engineer in Defect reduction by actively participating in root cause analysis and implementation of action plan.

Qualifications & Skills:
EDUCATION

IWS or IWP Certification

Diploma (Mechanical)

Should have an experience in Heavy Metal Welding Industry

Should be able to give practical training to Welders
