Job Capsule

Position is responsible for the design and implementation of computer systems and system modifications, using outside contractors and IMS employees.

Job Duties/Roles

1. Ability to create and implement technology solution architecture from a conceptual definition of the system.
2. Prototypes/experiments/simulates new technical approaches to determine feasibility and effectiveness of solutions.
3. Assists the Project Managers to create the project plan and realize risks with the intricacies of the dependencies.
4. Enforces the design principles in the project team.
5. Assists the project team to achieve the desired quality of the product.
6. Conducts research to independently verify any new technical concept and its applicability in the Enterprise.
7. Documents the architecture and design principles.
8. Reviews design and quality attributes of the existing systems.
9. Mentors junior team members and peers, providing expertise and guidance of tools and systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)

1. Possesses a deep understanding of tools used in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
2. Able to independently program and verify design decisions.
3. In depth knowledge and experience of database management, application development technology, design patterns, distributed and mobile application architecture, security standards and trends in new technology.
4. Able to quickly learn and apply a new technology.
5. Experienced in the design and maintenance of computer systems. 
6. Demonstrated ability to work well with others. 
7. Proven capability to train employees in technically complex areas.
8. Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System. 
9. Needs to be familiar with the ABS IMS Project Management Methodology.
