Job Capsule :
The Technical Delivery Manager will be responsible for stewardship of large, cross functional development and systems integration projects for ABS Professional Services. The Technical Delivery Manager will be responsible for implementation / build /release delivery of new and/or existing software products while working with the product managers, technical architecture, quality/testing department and the development team. It will involve extensively working / consulting on technical designs, systems development and quality control. The role involves managing and leading highly skilled architects, technical team leaders and product developers to ensure timely delivery of product enhancements and related deliverables.
Job Duties/Roles :
1. Work daily with Project Managers to direct project teams in the delivery of high-quality products within committed timeframes.
2. Provide assistance in technical design and code development projects.
3. Responsible for overseeing adherence by all Technical Team members to defined SDLC processes for software products and/or projects.
4. Continuously monitor the overall progress of projects and constructing a risk assessment and mitigation plan as delivery schedules encounter unplanned issues. Works with the Project Manager to construct management communications as needed.
5. Assist in mentoring and guiding Technical Leads in accurate requirements analysis, features scoping and backlog scheduling for multiple intermediate milestones until the final delivery.
6. Work with Project Managers and Technical Leads to accurately estimate efforts, resource requirements, risks and constraints. Play a major role in defining code drop schedules and coordinating the alignment of code drop dependencies.
7. Assist in keeping the development team updated on latest trends in tools & technologies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
1. Skills and knowledge acquired through Development, Technical Lead, or Project Management are required in each of the following areas: Project Management, Change Management, Release Management, Configuration Management, Systems Integration, Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis and Design.
2. Strong history and track record of completing quality projects on time, as well as a proven track record in coaching and mentoring others to success.
3. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written & verbal).
4. Excellent presentation skills and strong negotiation skills.
5. Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans.
6. Expert problem solving skills.
7. Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism.
8. Ability to multi-task efficiently.
9. Project Management skills including: Estimating, Scope Management, Budget Management, Time Management, Risk Management, Change Management, Issue/Conflict Resolution, Communication Management, Quality Management, Testing Plans, Training Plans, Team Management.
10. Strong coaching, and project management experience.
11. Five years project delivery experience or management of large projects as a Lead Developer, Lead Business Analyst or Senior Project Manager.
12. Experience managing teams delivering IT implementations and involving multiple software application integrators.
13. Experience and knowledge of various SDLC methodologies.
14. Knowledge of application development and system architecture.
