The Chargeback Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective management of chargeback disputes and minimizing financial losses for the company. As a Chargeback Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing, investigating, and resolving chargebacks in accordance with relevant regulations, policies, and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of industry chargeback guidelines and procedures.
Thoroughly review and investigate chargebacks, analyzing supporting documentation, transaction records, and relevant policies to determine the validity, accuracy, and viability of the dispute.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of chargeback responses, required documentation, and evidence to maximize chances of successful resolution.
Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, financial institutions, and payment processors to obtain necessary information and resolve chargeback disputes efficiently.
Maintain clear and comprehensive records of chargeback cases, including detailed documentation of investigation findings, communication logs, and resolutions.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to identify root causes of chargebacks, implement preventative measures, and optimize processes.
Stay updated on industry chargeback guidelines, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing within the team.
Provide reports and performance metrics to management regarding chargeback activities, trends, and recommendations for process improvements.
Identify patterns and trends in chargeback activity and contribute insights to fraud prevention strategies.
Consistently demonstrate superior customer service skills when interacting with internal teams, financial institutions, and customers involved in chargeback disputes.
Work with peers and Managed Services leadership to communicate Chargeback and fraud trends and share best practices, ideas, and information.
Ensure adherence to regulatory, operations, and compliance standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 0-3 years of experience in a chargeback or fraud prevention role
Strong knowledge of the chargeback industry and fraud prevention best practices
Experience working with Airline or Retail clients is a plus.
Strong understanding of chargeback regulations, guidelines, and processes, with proven success in resolving disputes efficiently and minimizing financial losses.
Proficient in using chargeback management systems and platforms (e.g., Visa Resolve Online, Mastercard Chargeback Management System, etc.).
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and root causes of chargebacks.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, including financial institutions, customers, and internal teams.
Demonstrated experience and/or strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must possess strong Internet research, along with the ability to navigate multiple systems at once.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Operational queue management platforms, White Pages etc.
Self-motivated and a Team Player
Flexible and adaptive in changing business environments and pressure
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
