Senior level – Responsible for updating and maintaining financial systems including exporting and importing of files into databases. Modifies menus and spreadsheets for analysis and troubleshooting. May provide training to staff on financial systems’ data.

Functional Description:

The Tax Technology and Operations team, supporting the Global Tax group, is looking for a skilled individual with a technical background and strong analytic skills to build and enhance the use of technology to drive efficiency, accuracy, and automation throughout the various tax functions.

This position is responsible for supporting the Tax Technology & Operations team in deployment, maintenance, and enhancements to American Express’s global income and non-income tax systems, data, and processes as well as management of key tax technology projects.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Manage tax system installation, maintenance, security, and software updates

• Troubleshoot software issues and provide technical guidance

• Enhance data management and analysis

• Managing & supporting Multiple work in terms of governance & compliance requirement

• Participate in requirement gathering and design sessions

• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline tax processes and optimize tax systems

• Act as a liaison between tax process teams and technology solutions

• Assist with training and development of tax staff on software systems

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a timely manner

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of IT Technology, Data Analytics, Computer programming experience required. Relevant experience in Technology and corporate tax preferred.

• BS/BTech degree required, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science. Other professional certifications/MS degree/Tax/Tax Technology background is a plus.

• Advanced MS Excel, Power Query Excel and Power BI / Tableau skills are preferred.

• Experience with building SQL Query on SQL, Oracle etc.

• Experience with Microsoft PowerApps, and Microsoft SharePoint.

• Experience with reporting tools.

• Must be a self-starter with an ability to drive large scale change.

• Excellent verbal & written communication and general business consulting skills
