As part of the Global Financial Initiatives and Integrity organization within Corporate Controllership, this role is responsible for providing financial integrity of accounting, reporting, and control changes in technology development for Line of Business or Finance initiatives. This position will assist Project Managers provide analysis and inputs for project initiatives, defining financial needs and developing user stories. The role will also assist on developing, reviewing test cases, and providing post warranty coverage for deployed financial requirements with technology development driven by the Line of Business or Finance organization. The position will also support the organization on consulting on consultancy requests, process improvement and other initiatives. Job

Responsibilities :

• Assist the organization ensuring compliance to AEMP 16 and all other relevant AXP and Finance policiesSupport Project managers in new business initiatives requiring technology development with financial, reporting, or accounting impacts

• Assist Project Manager define end-to-end balancing and controls within financial processes

• Work with Project Manager to create accounting requirements in consultation with Segment and Market Controllership

• Assist on design changes/updates to reporting

• Assist project manager on user acceptance testing of finance requirements

• Assist the team in post implementation support

• Assist project managers on consultancy requests

• Assist on creating project documentation including process, system and accounting flows

Experience

• One to three years’ post graduate experience in a finance or technology related rolePreferably has some exposure in defining system development requirements across business and technologiesPreferably has some exposure in defining and validating system development and financial test casesKnowledge of American Express processes and systems required is a plus

• Basic understanding of US GAAP requirements and financial control principles and practices

• Basic understanding of project management and system implementation background is preferred

• Possesses strategic thinking and results driven traits

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio) is a requirement to aid on written and visual communication as well as analytics

• Typically holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or has equivalent work experience
