Job Description

The Reliability Engineer position helps in design, develop, maintain electrical, Electromechanical and Electromagnetics products such as Power Distribution Systems, Data Acquisition Systems, Engine Monitoring systems, Motors, Actuators, and blowers used in commercial / military aircrafts focusing on safety and reliability. This position will be based out of our Bangalore office and reports to the India R&D Engineering Manager for Measurement and Power Systems (MPS) and offers a challenging role in a rapidly growing engineering organization. The person in this position is expected to be an independent contributor able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced engineering environment. Strong written and oral communication are essential for status reporting and effectively interfacing directly with team members, customers, and program managers.
In this role, Reliability Engineer needs to perform Stress Analysis, MTBF, FMEAs, FTA for all new products and recommend changes to designs if required to improve reliability of products.
Reliability Engineer needs to evaluate the re-occurring failures, identify its cause and give timely suggestions for improving the product s reliability using tools / methods such as Root cause analysis (RCA), Root cause Failure analysis (RCFA), Fault tree analysis (FTA) and Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
Perform Stress Analysis of the Electronic Components as per the subjected stress conditions and report if there are any components not meeting derating guidelines
Perform MTBF analysis of products as per MIL-HDBK-217FN2, 217PLUS, Telcordia etc.,
Perform FMEA analysis of products as per MIL-STD – 1629A using databases like NPRD, FMD91, FMD97 etc.,
Perform Fault Tree Analysis
Perform System Safety Analysis and Common Mode analysis as per the defined requirements
Perform System Safety Assessment as per SAE ARP4754A and SAE ARP 4761
Preparation of Reports for the analysis and present to the design team and customer.
Work with Design and team and report design weakness to ensure the product meets the reliability requirements.

Position Requirements:
Mandatory Skills:
Bachelor s degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering and Masters in Reliability Engineering with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of Reliability Analysis experience in Aerospace domain.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Should have worked on Reliability Analysis in Aerospace products Electronic, Electro-mechanical and mechanical parts and sub-assemblies
Should be able to analyze the inputs, prepare the schedule and drive to meet the schedules.
Should be able to define the templates for reports and analysis if required
Should have hands on experience in PTC Windchill Solutions Reliability Analysis Tool.
Good Knowledge on MIL-HDBK-217F, SAE ARP4754, SAE ARP 4761 and MIL-STD-1629A
Good Knowledge on NPRD, FMD91, FMD97 and latest Failure Mode/Mechanism Distributions databases
Preferred Skills:
Design Experience in the similar product lines will be a Plus.
Should have worked on Simulation of Electronic Circuits using tools like LT Spice
Knowledge of aerospace standards like RTCA/DO 160, RTCA DO-254 and RTCA DO-178
