To grow our global Data and Business Intelligence team we are looking for a:
Business Intelligence Developer (m/f/x)
The Business Intelligence Developer is part of our global Data and Analytics team. This position will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our enterprise business intelligence environment. The individual will be responsible for pulling new data into our data warehouse, building business intelligence applications to support the business, and creating integrations between business systems. This individual will form relationships with subject matter experts across the company and business leaders to help enhance business decisions and reporting capabilities by having a strong data background. The right candidate will exhibit outstanding data understanding, a drive to learn new systems and business data, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. The business hours for this position will overlap with the manager at a minimum of 4 hours during US EST business hours daily, Monday through Friday.
Core Responsibilities:
Designing and building complex BI solutions that have a global perspective, but can be flexible for regional-specific requirements.
Working with colleagues across the company to obtain requirements, business logic, and technical details for Business Intelligence questions.
Implementing ETL routines with ODBC and other connectors to obtain data from various sources and store said data in a Microsoft SQL Server.
Creating business intelligence data models.
Writing and modifying SQL queries.
Writing data transformations and converting data from one system to another.
Testing and verifying data queries based on business requirements.
Crafting stories around data and business intelligence requirements.
Documenting code and BI changes.
Monitoring and tuning BI tools to ensure optimum level of performance.
Scheduling data jobs during optimum business hours.
Creating data integrations between different systems.
Working closely with and collaborating with team members on initiatives.
Maintaining high standards of data quality and integrity.
Maintaining a customer-first mindset and concierge-style support.
Mentoring team members on data best practices.
Taking lead on projects, but collaborating with team members.
Updating tasks and user stories in Jira and other ticketing tools.
Ability to overlap working hours with EU and US colleagues. (8am – 12pm Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-4)).
Skills and Knowledge:
3+ years of SQL experience.
3+ years of BI experience.
Proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases (MySQL, SQL Server, Postgresql, etc).
Hands-on experience in writing SQL and ETL Routines.
Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot databases and data issues and identify solutions.
A clear sense of urgency.
A desire to learn.
Comfortable making decisions and leading.
Ability to manage communications effectively with various cultures and across multiple time zones
Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
Ability to facilitate group discussions.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Team player with solid communication and presentation skills.
Client-centric attitude.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transactional SQL (CRUD).
Excellent ability to work with visualization and data tools such as Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI, Domo, Looker, Sisense etc.
Proficiency in Qlik Sense is preferred.
Understanding of Master Data Management principles is a plus.
Working knowledge of big data processing is a plus.
Fluency in English (C1 or higher)
