Scope:

Summary:

The Benefits Analyst I will support the administration of retirement and health and welfare benefit programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. This role will assist employees in understanding their benefits, contribute to business planning with service providers, and analyze benefits data to support strategic planning. Additionally, the Benefits Analyst I will provide guidance to employees and management on benefit plan provisions, policies, and compliance requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process benefits events and tasks, including monitoring eligibility, plan limitations, and compliance with plan provisions and government regulations
• Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding benefit programs and assist in resolving issues
• Support the design and communication of annual benefits enrollment materials and Total Rewards statements
• Assist in delivering presentations to educate employees and management on benefit plan updates, administrative processes, and regulatory changes
• Help analyze proposals, renewal of information, and vendor contracts to support benefit plan evaluations
• Maintain and audit benefits data, ensuring accuracy and compliance for government reporting
• Administer COBRA compliance and assist in benefits-related employee communications
• Conduct research on the best practices, benefit trends, and legislative changes, providing recommendations to the Director of Employee Benefits
• Compile, analyze, and report benefits data for strategic planning and benchmarking
• Perform additional duties as needed to support benefits administration

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 2-5 years of experience in benefits administration or a related field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Foundational and application knowledge of ERISA, employment laws, and employee benefit programs, including flexible benefits
• Ability to analyze data, follow established procedures, and resolve routine benefits issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong internal relationships
• Proficiency in benefits management systems and Google Suite

Physical Requirements:

Remote work environment that requires sitting/standing for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity and proficiency with computers and typing, often for several hours a day. This includes using a keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing equipment. Visual and auditory abilities to review digital content, read documents, participate in virtual meetings, and collaborate effectively using various platforms. While most work will be conducted from a desk, remote work may still require basic mobility for home office setup adjustments, attending virtual presentations, or organizing workspace materials.

While primarily sedentary, this role benefits from incorporating breaks, stretching, and ergonomic adjustments to prevent strain from prolonged screen time.
