Job Description

To aim for setting standards in supplier quality processes by establishing a proactive supplier part quality management system,to strengthen the SQA function at Dapodi plant.
In this position you have to work closely with Sourcing Team, Quality Assurance Team, Flow team and Engineering teams for implementation of the NPD projects, Quality issues on assembly line and establishing quality systems at supplier end.

You will be the responsible SQA for assigned commodities like critical Castings,Fabrication, Electrical Motor, drive, panel, engine & instrumentation for Dapodi Plant.
You will be participate/lead the meetings for assigned division in TCM, PQM, PTM, PCM, IQPR & Andon analysis meetings
To implement a Lean six sigma in Supplier Quality, Use of advanced tools/concept like Control plan, FMEA, 6-sigma (DMAIC), 8D, Cp/Cpk, Design of Experiment (DOQ), Control charts, P-Charts etc.
Able to handle supplier assessment & evaluations, parts qualification, NDT tests & certifications, parts drawing, rejection claim, debit note & containment action by using BPCS, Be2Net & QlikView
You will report to SQA Manager- PC Dapodi

Your core competences and area of focus include following:

1) Ensure strict implementation and compliance of Atlas Copco Supplier related policies and quality management system at all the suppliers
2) Ensure that the supplier adhere to Atlas Copco Business Code of Practice, ethics and mandatory compliance Raise a red flag immediately in case of deviation.
3) Core team member for QSHE system compliance and documentation within Sourcing. Keeping the future expectations in view, conduct a supplier manufacturing process mapping to identify gaps and develop an improvement action plan
4) Qualify and select new supplier based on defined assessment process with the focus on supplier profile along with ‘4P’ purchasing principle
5) Ensure the quality through planned QIP meetings, audits and follow up of the improvement actions with horizontal deployments.
6) Prepare a Quality Assurance Plan for assigned commodities with proactive approach (QAPs, Work Instructions, process capability study, etc).Have technical agreements with supplier before start of the development
7) Communicate and monitor supplier performance with continual improvement in PPM, NCN incidents and quality of corrective actions (8D reports).
8) Implement stage wise NPD requirements and PPAP for Pilot batch with close co-ordination with buyer / Engineering. Update development status against agreed timeline.
9) Ensure process design, poka-yoke with dynamic PFMEA & Control Plan to result zero defect supply. Monitor and upgrade continuously to make 100% part supply with ZDS status.
10) Active role in cross functional responsibilities, PPAR, IQPR, Andon response, supplier service agreements, cost saving projects/localization etc.
11) Ensure supplier motivation to achieve quality, delivery, and cost targets.
12) Ensure a healthy, long-lasting win-win relationship.

  • Participate to the supplier market screening and auditing of the potential suppliers, in close relationship with Sourcing, Engineering & Manufacturing.
  • Tracking of Supplier Quality KPI level pro-active initiatives & trends
  • Execute audit foreseen by IMS procedures: system, process, product & logistic
  • Report supplier performance on quality, capability, capacity, flexibility, elasticity, Safety & risk evaluation
  • Track the achievement of the supplier’s improvement actions to raise the bar of its performance.
  • Motivate the supplier to provide ideas for continuous improvement and for innovation to the change management
  • Tracking of Design notifications and change implementation
  • Tracking management of Warranty Complaints (due to supplier faults), Support preventive activities through the TCM (Technical Committee Meeting) & PQM
  • Develop networking to have a supplier base with an International Quality Mind-set.
    & Promote Supplier Quality improvement with benchmarking world class quality

• Lead a reactive process

• Catch potential deviation from supplier parts deliveries
• Confirm issues, and decide for eventual deviation authorization as per acceptance criteria

• Quick coordination and implementation of containment actions for non-conforming parts
• Determine the 5 why root cause analysis, Fishbone diagram & reporting in 8D methodology in case of Quality issues in parts from supplier
• Participate to the CC7 process by providing ideas of cost improvements
• Support the NPD process, for On Time In Full by
  • Select appropriated supplier for the project
  • Qualify new parts following the PPAP (Production Part Approval Procedure)
  • Promote Build-in Quality, like supplier Poka-Yoke
  • Suggest Innovation, with the help suppliers
  • Define the Quality Assurance Plans (specific dimension tolerance, instrument BPCS parameters for ZDS/NZDS code
• Formalize the SQA Knowledge Base by commodity type

• Active in technical Benchmarking, competition analysis, other PCs performance
• Collect Best practices from other PCs
• Digitization initiative for Kaizen, QAP, Inspection check sheet, supplier audits etc
• Quality agreement as per group Supply agreements.
• Continuous review & update QAP, supplier process documents & skill matrix monitoring

Experience requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing / Quality Assurance / Supplier Quality of handling commodity like Casting, Fabrication, Electrical Motor, drive, control panel, instrumentation, Engine & other OEM commodities.

Knowledge/Educational requirements

• Graduate Mechanical Engineer
• 5-10 years of mechanical parts handling, like in Production or Quality.
• Knowledge in QMS, EMS, OSHAS and Energy Management Systems, procedure, clauses etc.
• Quality Analysis Tools (Lean 6-Sigma, SPC, Cp/CpK, 5S, FMEA, why-why, Fishbone, 8D etc.)
• Fluent in English is a must,
• Use of IT tools like ERP (BPCS), MS-Excel
• Technical knowledge on compressor, engine, Motor, electric panel is a benefit
• Good understanding of the supplier and manufacturing process of Casting, machining, Electrical Motor , drive, panel, Engine and OEM parts
• Sound knowledge of Quality requirements, specification, DIN/ASME standard
