About Forte / Base8

Built on the Microsoft 365 platform, “Forte/Base8 SOPs” will provide cannabis business operators with an operations and communications tool to manage their businesses. The first service will be Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) templates and management via SharePoint. Forte/Base8 will quickly launch additional features, including Teams collaboration, workflow management, forms, and scheduling, all customized specifically for cannabis operators.

Job Summary:

The Research Assistant is primarily responsible for researching local and state government-specific policies and procedures relating to recreational cannabis retail. A Research Assistant must be able to manage multiple tasks by prioritizing important duties and following an organized schedule to complete tasks

Responsibilities:

• Interpreting research specifications and developing a work plan that satisfies the requirements
• Entering and updating regulatory information in the Forte/Base8 database
• Conducting desktop research leveraging government websites to gather data, analyze and interpret regulations.
• Recording findings by taking written notes and using appropriate software
• Maintaining and protecting confidential and proprietary databases
• Anticipating research issues and promptly resolving them
• Working independently in accordance with client requirements, or under the supervision of a research team leader
• Managing projects from beginning to end
• Attend project meetings as required
• Constantly reviewing documents and regulations to keep up to date with the evolving regulated landscape
• Recording notes and filing research according to best practice methods
• Categorization of documents based on Forte/Base8 preferences
• Assisting with the development of improved internal research-related processes

Experience / Requirements:

• Proficiency in SharePoint and Excel
• Experience in Cannabis is an asset
• Strong communication, flexibility, willingness to adapt, excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize tasks
• Solution-oriented
