ES&H Engineer

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) activities assigned by ES&H Manager.

Basic Job Responsibilities:

1. Supports in managing and administering the ES&H program in the India Office.

2. Monitors, reviews and reports on environment, safety and health performance across Offices and Projects. Supports in conducting audits and assessment of projects/offices to monitor compliance with environmental requirements including contractual commitments, permits, ISO 14001 EMS, ISO 45001 OHS and internal Bechtel EMS, environmental core processes and procedures.

3. Provides environmental, safety and health technical support and assistance to the office and projects and coordinates ES&H compliance requirements with functional and project leadership including but not limited to (sub) contracts managers, project engineers, ES&H managers, and

other office/project personnel as required.

4. Monitors, reviews, and analyzes proposed changes in environmental, safety and health laws/regulations, financial institution performance standards, and industry standards/practices potentially affecting India office operations/projects and provides input and recommendations for

addressing such changes.

5. Reviews functional group policies and procedures and makes recommendations for revising/developing procedures and processes as required.

6. Supports in training and development activities for ES&H.

7. Supports / develops Office-level environmental , safety and health awareness orientation / training programs.

8. Supports in data gathering for Sustainability function to ensure that environmental, safety and health sustainability components are properly incorporated into the ES&H program.

Basic Job Qualifications:

1. Bachelors or higher-level degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited college or university.

2. Progressive practical work experience of 6+ years for Gr 24 and > 10 years for Gr 25 in an office setting and field environments (e.g., construction execution and/or operating facilities) performing the job responsibilities.

3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

4. Strong organizational, collaboration and leadership skills.

5. Must have the ability to travel

6. Competent user of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, SharePoint etc)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Demonstrated experience working with management systems standards, in particular ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems & ISO 45001 with formal training and experience conducting / supporting audits of EMS systems.

2. Previous experience within the environmental, safety, and health function on projects or offices.
