Summary: A technical specialist in the field of highway engineering / roadway design / transportation engineering. Role will have an opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of industry professionals across the globe. The role demands planning and conducting independent work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of highway engineering techniques, procedures, criteria for highway / roadway design and e-highway. Position will lead an integrated team of engineers and designers for design works related to highway, roadway, traffic and interchange geometrics, alignment, grading, flexible/rigid pavement, traffic analysis, highway signage, marking, signals and utilities, associated structures such as retaining systems, underpass, bridge, toll gate and drainage structures. Essential Job Duties: 1.Plans and coordinates independent work requiring judgment and experience in the application and substantial adaptation of engineering techniques. 2.Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups. 3.Prepare, check / review, approve conceptual studies, designs and detailed project drawings, proposals, design criteria & specifications, project budget and schedules 4.Assists in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel and mentors them and provides input for their performance evaluations. 5.Assists Construction and Field Engineering to resolve Contractor Technical Queries and resultant field changes. 6.Ensures that technical risk assessments are comprehensive and complete, safety practices and procedures are implemented, and engineering design and corresponding design documentations comply project Quality Assurance plan and procedures. 7.Assists in creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, satisfaction and in planning and implementing a program to develop self- perform engineering capabilities and resources. Job Knowledge: 1. Minimum 10 years in design of large-scale highways and roads projects including 5 years on International Projects. Demonstrated skill in supervision in a lead position for minimum 3 years. Must have worked on at least one highway project from conceptualization to execution. 2. Candidate should have worked in an engineering office or consultancy of repute performing relevant work and is fluent in applicable codes in US, UK and Europe and governing highway/roadway designs including AASHTO, US FHWA and TEM and have hands-on expertise in using design software such as MX-Road, InRoads, OpenRoads and Civil 3D. Knowledge of Quantm software will be preferred. Qualification: 1.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university. 2.Master’s degree in Highway or Transportation Engineering and professional license in an appropriate engineering discipline from a recognized licensing board will be preferred. 3.Experience of traffic engineering works shall be an added advantage. Experience: Grade 25: 12-15 years of relevant work experience Grade 26: 16-20 years of relevant work experience In accordance with the laws of Saudi Arabia, Bechtel has adopted mandatory COVID-19 safety protocols for all work locations in the country.
