RiverCrest Power Trading part of BioUrja Group is a fast-growing proprietary financial trading company actively participating in Wholesale North American ISO nodal power markets since 2015. We trade financial power products (FTR/Virtual/OTC/Options) across all ISO’s (PJM, MISO, ERCOT, SPPISO etc.) along with ICE and Nodal Exchange Markets.

In RiverCrest Power traders and the technology team work together to develop Power Simulation Models, trading tools & data Analytics over TBs of Structured & LIVE Streaming Data. Our IT Platform is Modern AZURE Cloud Based & Powered by Python for range of Tasks from simple analytical reports to Montecarlo Simulation and Advanced Machine learning to predict the state of future Power Grid.

We have experienced Traders, Analysts & 5 PhDs from Multi-National Energy Companies like EDF, Boston Energy, Mercuria, TransAlta, CitiBank, S&P Platts spread over 3 countries. Unlike other Multi-Nationals our Analysts and Support team directly works with Front Office Team to deploy Proprietary Capital and technology (multi-Million dollars) in a FLAT & NON-Hierarchical ORG Structure.

We are looking for self-driven, risk-taking & Tech savvy team members across various technical disciplines (Power Systems, Machine learning and Cloud Analytics) who want to work on the cutting edge of Modern Energy Markets and Distributed Cloud Infrastructure.

In India we have our offices at Hyderabad and Indore. We are looking to hire Quant Analysts at different seniority levels. Please note that the positions mentioned are open for both the locations.

Position Title: Quant Analyst – India

General Description

The Quant Analyst shall be responsible for development and validation of models to estimate power demand, generation, and nodal prices. The analyst shall work directly with the traders to apply engineering techniques to optimize portfolio construction. It will be expected of the analysts to familiarize themselves with the energy markets and apply innovative quantitative techniques. The analyst shall also work with the risk management team to measure, analyze, and manage the risk in our power trading business.

Tasks:

• Work with the nodal trading team to develop, manage and extend quantitative models for nodal power markets
• Perform statistical analysis of electricity nodal market price and demand data.
• Building statistical load/ generation models using Time Series and Regression-based techniques.
• Applying financial engineering techniques/ models for improving and optimizing portfolio construction.
• Developing metrics to measure market attributes and publishing reports to quantify market behavior
• Data Mining techniques to hunt for signals in semi-structured data sets.

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Electrical Engineering, CS, Industrial Engineering or Statistics
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting analytical libraries and pricing models.
• Good knowledge of programming in Python and SQL databases
• Knowledge of principles of statistics and probability in Finance.
• Knowledge about optimization techniques and statistical learning methods.
• Commercial motivation to understand the Energy Markets.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to get things done under pressure. Desire to work in a team-oriented culture.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹11,353.31 – ₹49,838.81 per month
