What You Will Do

Architect, document, and implement test automation frameworks and pipeline delivery solutions to be shared across back-end services Design and develop tools for checking security, validating core functionality, measuring performance, analyzing cost, testing scalability, and assessing reliability in a straightforward and repeatable way Collaborate across engineering, product, support, and science teams to drive improvements in the quality of our products and data

Bring a scientific, systematic approach to developing performance, data integrity, and large-scale tests and make recommendations based on data Be ready to learn, build, and maintain both homegrown and open-source technology Introduce and adopt new approaches to test automation and delivery as needed.

What is a day like in this role? What key responsibilities will occupy their time?

• develop and update/extend backend integration/system/performance/etc. automated test frameworks

• Building highly scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, system wide tests.

• Work with Engineers building automated CI/CD systems

• reviewing pull requests (by Dev’s and SDET’s), reviewing for testability and providing feedback on Engineering Design Docs and writing Test-specific documentation

• Lead quality assurance testing for large-scale, eCommerce web applications, tools, and/or software

• Authoring comprehensive test plans and test strategies that span across software, and infrastructure components and ensure high quality deliverables.

• Support continuous integration process improvement and innovation

• Write test plans, test strategy and test cases (automated)

• Identify opportunities for improved software development lifecycle

• Troubleshoot critical defects in software coding

• Work closely with the Developers and Engineers to achieve a high level of code coverage

Skills

• Expertise in designing Automation Framework

• Strong in Web Services Automation

• Should be a good coach for the team and has excellent communication skills

• Technical expertise in building effective testing frameworks, that are highly scalable and reusable.

• Proficient in front-end, backend, system testing.

• Proven experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Cucumber, Selenium, TestNG, Postman, Selenium and Jmeter

• Experienced with object oriented programming languages such as Java and scripting using Python, Shell etc.,

• Experience with scalability and performance testing.

• Experience integrating the automation suite with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.

Qualifications:

• 6 + years of Unix/Linux experience (shell/tools/kernel/networking) with a Tools-first mindset.

• Expert coding and design skills (strong Computer Science background and experiencein in Java / Python

• Thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Quality methodologies.

• Experience working with agile/scrum-based teams.

• Experience testing large scale complex products with software and infrastructure components.

• You build tools for yourself and others to increase efficiency and to make hard or repetitive tasks easy and quick.

• Strong communication skills

• Knowledgeable about collecting metrics, measuring systems and interpreting data to make decisions.

• Organized, focused on building, improving, resolving and delivering. Good communicator in and across teams, taking the lead.
