BMJ India is looking for a BU Head – Sponsorship to join their Sales team.
Achieve or surpass the budget/target set out at the beginning of the budget year.
Strategize the product positioning and understanding the market.
Lead on execution of the 3 year BMJ India strategy for this business
To develop and own a plan for this business to maximise sales revenue from sponsorship.
To deliver sales budgets, through selling primary publishing based sponsorship opportunities for Local Edition, Coll. of articles, BMJ Masterclasses , BMJ webinars , BMJ Best Practice, BMJ Learning, etc. to pharmaceutical companies. This will be achieved via a combination of activities; sales letters and mail-shots, telephone activity, email, face-to-face meetings and presentations, attending major medical conferences etc.
To build and develop relationships with the India pharmaceutical industry and manage a contact database. This will involve targeting and focusing on the top 25 prospects
Provide sufficient and quality feedback from customers and user intelligence to improve the quality of products.
To provide information about the competitive and economic environment which will have an impact on sales strategy, pricing policies, access models and new product development
Work closely with the editorial, marketing and sales support to develop coordinated pre and post marketing
To review or develop existing agent relationships, identify and set up and manage agent relationships as required in line with company strategy or the needs of the market
To produce monthly report of Indian sales containing revenue figures and key sales metrics
To maintain an accurate client database and contact management details
Taking the sponsorship business to new heights by selling Masterclasses, webinars and making it a brand that the clients would like to invest in.
Graduate or Masters in Business Administrations (Sales)
Go-getter who can close sales deals, Self driven and motivated and lead a team by example
Should be comfortable with selling digital products
Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, gravitas and presence to network with senior level positions in the Pharma and Corp Sector
Proven track record of regional sales & marketing plans which have led to substantial business growth
Clear understanding of the local and business culture and the methods needed to succeed in sales in that region
Consistency in exceeding sales targets in terms of increased revenue
Highly developed strategic, communication and negotiation skills with senior level contacts
Ideally a minimum of 10-15 years STM publishing experience with the majority of this in the Western region
Experience of sponsorship sales is a must.
