Healthwatch is the local independent champion for health and care services. From improving services today to helping shape better ones for tomorrow, we listen to the views and experiences of local people and use these to influence decision-making.

We are looking for an experienced manager to help us deliver a new Healthwatch service that will cover the whole of East Berkshire (Slough Borough Council, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Bracknell Forest Council areas). We are looking for someone who would like to lead and manage the Healthwatch team across the three localities and support our strategic stakeholder engagement and networking.

The role will include being responsible for delivery of the contract, building awareness of local and national health/social care landscape and ensuring robust and effective patient and public feedback mechanisms are developed utilised.

You will play a key role in establishing and supporting the individual Healthwatch Local Leadership Boards and Chairs ensuring a long term and strategic overview of where Healthwatch in East Berkshire should focus their activities.

Applicants will need experience in strategic networking and partnership building, staff management, developing new areas of activity and proactively identifying and achieving new sources of income. Extensive experience of working with diverse individuals and communities, alongside knowledge of the challenges that exist in terms of access to and delivery of high-quality health and social care services.

The post will be fully supported by Help & Care’s Head of Healthwatch and Director of operations.

This is an exciting and wide-ranging role for someone with a passion to improve health and social care services through patient engagement and participation.

The ability to travel across East Berkshire is required for this role and occasional travel to different locations of the business for which expenses will be paid.

An enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) police record check in relation to vulnerable adults and children (previously known as CRB check) is required for this role.
