Job Title: Team Lead- Intercompany & Concur (SSC Finance)
Purpose of job:
British Council operates across the globe in 8 regions including the UK. Team Lead reporting to Regional Lead in GSS Finance hub will primarily be the key contact person between the region and the finance hub and will be responsible to ensuring that all queries and service level requirements relating to Intercompany and Concur are met in time.
Main opportunities/challenges for this role
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
Maintaining the key service level requirements & KPI targets between the GSSC and regions
Key contact between regions and the transaction processing Finance hub
Provide oversight and direction to Shared Service Center intercompany and Concur Team supporting the intercompany accounting, T&E operations and projects.
Final reviewer of complex intercompany transactions, Concur Transaction and responsible for the monthly Intercompany and Concur close process.
Outlining and maintaining the key service level requirements & KPI targets between the GSSC and a specific region
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve and standardize accounting processes including the Intercompany closing process (i.e. reduce mismatches, reducing close cycle, automate manual processes) while not sacrificing the quality of the resulting financial data.
Proactively track inter-company issues, and coordinate with other functional owners to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
To manage & streamline TEX/DPC card process rolled out for U.K staff on Concur besides governing the TEX/DPC card expenditure of HSBC on SAP. The incumbent will be responsible for analysing reports submitted by the Sr. Executive to ensure proper governance of the process. The incumbent would also help in rollout of Concur in other Countries/Regions
Completion of reconciliation between Concur, RBS and SAP systems
Help coding and approval of TEX/DPC card transactions in timely manner
Ensure proper follow ups on unassigned & unapproved transactions on Regional/Country level
Developing standard reporting for compliance, reconciliation and proper governance of the process.
Exception reporting to key Stake holders with regard to non-compliances of the agreed processes.
Resolving user queries with regard to TEX/DPC card transactions with the issuing bankers.
Establish highly collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including tax, treasury, IT, statutory reporting team, and SSC and other operational teams.
To take assistance from Team members in resolving process performance issues
Ensuring support and compliance for all kinds of audit.
Initiating on process improvements there by improving the overall efficiency.
Role specific knowledge and experience
Minimum/essential
Financial accounting skills including book-keeping.
Understanding the organisation and working pattern.
Process management skills
Risk identification and management
SAP system skills
Experience in a Finance Shared Service function specialising in F&A related customer service, delivery as per agreed service levels. Experience of Financial Control and Compliance in SAP environment.
Has worked in a General Accounting function, as part of a Captive or Outsourced Finance service centre, with experience of presenting monthly trial balance to overseas Finance and non-Finance managers.
Desirable
Knowledge of Sap MM module & FI module
Knowledge of Quality tools with project Management skills
