What you’ll be doing – your accountabilities

• Provides technical quality assurance over work of other engineers through matrix team structure.

• Creates and implements technical solutions for a domain or cross domains / portfolios of work within a specific technology area autonomously, understanding how solutions impact systems internally and/or externally and assessing impact of change.

• Provides sound technical expertise to consult on significant component(s) of a technical solution within a specific domain or cross domain.

• Identifies opportunities to improve standards of practice within a project, continuously enhancing ways of working.

• Delivers resolutions to problems that tend to be complex, cross-domain or of high impact to customers.

• Identifies opportunities to improve standards of practice within a project, continuously enhancing ways of working.

• Develop and maintain architectural diagrams, design specifications, and process diagrams that support changes to automation platform applications.

• Manage development timelines and ensure that development teams meet project milestones

• Provide design support for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and bug fixes.

• Assist in creating Agile user stories based on business requirements.

• Offer guidance and support to development teams during the analysis, development, and testing processes.

• Review designs created by component teams to ensure they align with best practices.

• Foster relationships with senior management and development leads on the automation platform.

The skills you’ll need to succeed

• Solution design experience in Service Assurance platforms (issue management, ticketing, inventory management, service & network diagnostic, monitoring)

• Good understanding of multiple automation tools and technologies.

• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining integrations in a complex enterprise application environment.

• Experience working in an Agile environment using JIRA & Confluence tools

• Having knowledge of Ansible is beneficial for developing integrations and workflows to automate the deployment of infrastructure and configuration changes across multiple systems

• Made decisions in ambiguous situations using incomplete information or differing opinions (eg divided team loyalties or unclear deliverables).

• Aligned project plans and objectives with BT strategy and values

• Actively participated in strategy setting sessions

• To suit the needs of a customer, colleague or client; moved outside of expected process or practice

• Been a spokesperson for others on issues of integrity

• Cross-functional collaboration

• Strong team player but also able to work independently without supervision
