Position Title: IT Analyst III – Tech Infrastructure
Job Location: Bangalore
Responsibilities:
Caterpillar’s India Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking an individual to assist with managing and shaping the direction and strategy for IT Infrastructure Support within the Caterpillar enterprise. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter capable of thinking with an enterprise perspective while still being flexible enough to keep the business running.
Job duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Competent to perform all development, integration, and system administration assignments without close supervision.
• Provides project management, systems, and/or system administration leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members.
• Works on more complex technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls.
• Works independently on complex projects that span multiple infrastructure components.
• Develops major infrastructure architectures released based on requirements gathered from system customers.
• Performs integrated testing and acceptance of infrastructure components to ensure timely, quality results.
• Designs and implements processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.
• Assists customers with documentation, training and usability efforts.
• Part of a Global compute and DR support model, primary Asia Pacific focus but may lead/work on activities in other regions (Americas & EAME) as required.
• 10 to 15% travel requirements based on project needs.
• Typically serves as a team member on one or more 6 Sigma projects.
  Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.

Required skills:

• Six or more years of hands-on design of new and existing installations
• VMWare(6.x) with UCS(4.x) experience
• Redhat Enterprise Linux administration experience.
• Fully knowledgeable of programming languages appropriate to the platform supported, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage and internal systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. English language is a requirement to be able to work with global teams.
• Strong applied ITIL skills understanding (eg. Service, Incident, Change, problem)
• Experience working with multiple compute vendors.
• Knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware & software and current development processes and tools
• Ability to learn new, complex storage technologies quickly.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time as well as well as being a collaborative team member.
• Ability to identify, interpret and evaluate system and storage requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
• Ability to respond to demanding project delivery dates
• Ability to adjust rapidly to changing project requirements

Additional skillsets and experiences advantages:

• Relevant work experience with medium to large companies.
• 1-2 or more years of General IT knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution

Experiences/understanding

• Windows Active Directory Domain Controller experiences
• Project Management
• Cloud Infrastructure

Background/experience:

• Requires a relevant degree, technical certification or equivalent experience.
• The incumbent should be knowledgeable of the appropriate programming languages; computing hardware and software; and current deployment processes and tools.
• 6 to 9 years in integration, infrastructure system administration, or support work is common.
