Job Description
I. Position Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for the implementation of the quality processes and procedures to improve the business processes and increase production output. Duties include enforcing the company’s quality standards and testing systems to reflect efficiency, reliability and performance. The Quality
Engineer is also responsible for the creation of documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution utilizing root cause analysis. The Quality
Engineer will interface with suppliers, engineers, operations, and customers to resolve quality issues and issue corrective actions.
II. Essential Functions

▪ Applies engineering principles, practices and problem solving techniques to a wide range of manufacturing and/or quality initiatives.
▪ Utilizes lean, six sigma and other continuous improvement tools to increase productivity and improve quality.
▪ Leads the identification and resolution of quality issues including implementing corrective actions to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
▪ Formulate sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
▪ Responsible for Quality System maintenance
▪ Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
▪ Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
▪ Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
▪ Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
▪ Preparation of QA reports.
III. Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
IV. Required Education and Experience
▪ Four year college degree from an accredited institution in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering or related engineering field. o Or 3-5 years’ experience in industrial engineering in a manufacturing environment.
▪ Well developed computer skills including spreadsheets, presentations, and data analysis.
V. Preferred Education and Experience
▪ Three to five years’ experience in electrical controls industry or discrete product manufacturing
▪ Logic and reasoning skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
▪ Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
▪ Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
VI. Additional Eligibility Qualifications
None required for this position.
VII. Work Environment
This job operates in a light manufacturing environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and scanners. This role may also use quality inspection tools and light assembly equipment.
VIII. Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position may require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs of material, open filing cabinets and bend and stand as necessary.
IX. Position Type, Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week including potential evening hours.
Weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
X. Travel
Some domestic travel may be required, though expected to be less than 20%.
