A service advisor is responsible for helping customers identify and address their automotive repair needs. They typically work in a dealership or service center and are the main point of contact between the customer and the mechanic.
The job of a service advisor starts with greeting the customer when they arrive and discussing their needs. The advisor then takes the customer’s vehicle to the service area to inspect it and diagnose any problems. Once the diagnosis is complete, the advisor will discuss the findings with the customer, explain the necessary repairs and provide an estimate for the cost of the repairs.
The service advisor is also responsible for scheduling any necessary appointments and ordering any parts that may be needed. They may also provide the customer with advice about maintenance and other services that could help keep their car running smoothly. Once the repairs are completed, the service advisor will review the work with the customer and answer any questions. They will then collect payment for the services and provide the customer with any necessary paperwork.
The service advisor is also responsible for ensuring that the dealership meets customer service standards and ensures that customers are satisfied with the service they receive. They may also be responsible for other administrative tasks such as filing paperwork, ordering supplies, and keeping track of service records.
