The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and experience in the latest trends and technologies within the AI/ML space. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing Speech & GenAI solutions, conducting research on emerging technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our product offerings.Your Impact

• Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in AI and natural language processing (NLP) technologies. Conduct research to recommend innovative solutions that can be implemented within the organization.
• Model Finetuning: Leverage your expertise to effectively optimize the use of LLMs through prompting or fine-tuning, shaping them for optimal accuracy, naturalness, and performance.
• Integrate LLM Capabilities: Design and implement software components and modules to integrate LLM capabilities into Cerence’s speech recognition and natural language understanding systems.
• Data Analysis: Analyse large sets of structured and unstructured data to extract meaningful insights.
• Validation and Implementation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of LLM-based features. Support the deployment of models into various environments and ensure high performance, reliability, scalability and robustness in real-world scenarios.
• Collaboration and Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, data scientists and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of AI solutions into existing products.
• Mentoring and Training: Share knowledge and expertise with other team members through training sessions and workshops, promoting a culture of learning and innovation.

What you bring

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. A masters or PhD in a relevant discipline is a plus.
• Good knowledge about Generative AI and Large Language Models. Fine tuning of LLMs, Implementation of LLM based Agents, RAG Pipelines, Function and Tool calling.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in AI and ML, by developing, fine-tuning and deploying models for real-world applications
• Deep understanding of AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) with a focus on integrating Large Language Models.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
• Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, and evaluation methodologies involving large-scale datasets and distributed computing environments
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model monitoring and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) (Preferred).
• Familiarity with Dialog implementations, Virtual Assistants, Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) or Text-to-Speech (TTS) applications. (Preferred)
